GOP's 'last hope' in Gov. Race...
Edited on Fri Dec-24-04 04:05 PM by elad
Didn't someone say something about R*s fighting like rabid dogs is Washington? Just watch to them try to twist truth and the law.

Here are some snips from an AP article...

GOP May Challenge Wash. Governor Recount

By REBECCA COOK, Associated Press Writer

SEATTLE - In what may be their last hope of reclaiming an evaporated lead in the Washington governor's race before turning to the courts, Republicans have asked county auditors statewide to reconsider ballots that were rejected on Election Day.

"I know many Washingtonians are hoping this will end soon, but I'm also sure that people across this state want a clean election and a legitimate governor-elect," Rossi said after the final tally from a grueling hand count was announced Thursday. "At this point, we have neither."

1. This may be good news
if we can apply the same logic to Ohio.

2. Funny how it's acceptable for the GOP to challenge the results
tooth and nail, but if Kerry were to speak out, he would be labeled another "Sore Loserman."

Liberal media my ass.

3. Interesting
Let me see if I have this straight - So the Washington state Republicans want the Board of Elections to review specific Republican ballots that they think they have found and have only those ballots reviewed and recounted? Huh???

What else is interesting is that here in NC the Republicans are challenging the results of a statewide race by claiming that provisional ballots cast out-of-precinct should be thrown out. The state supreme court, heavily Republican with judges who must eventually face re-election, just decided to hear this case even though it will mean that the certified winner of the race, a Democrat, will not be able to take office on inauguration day. So here, they want to throw more votes out.

Republicans are consistent only in their insistence that they use every possible trick to win. Even if it means making inconsistent arguments.

4. Freeper logic is that they were playing by the rules until
us 'donks' change the law in the middle of the game, and now they are just following the new 'law'.

But the funny part is that the ruling only specified ballots that were discarded by the canvassing board and found BEFORE certification completed. They are trying to include things like signature mismatch & people that never got a ballot.

The REALLY funny part is that this is exactly what the Democrats wanted to do the first time we went to the state supreme court to attempt to get all rejected ballots looked at.

Damn hypocrites.

5. This basically means that
The repubs will do anything it takes to get their boy in office, which means we are going to have to fight just as hard for our boys as well. Jan 6th be damned, we need to fight this election tooth and nail until Kerry is put into office or a civil war breaks out. I will not settle for less.

6. There is no being lower than a Republican.
Power is their "little blue pill", and they cannot have enough of it. They want it so badly that they will lie, cheat, steal, and murder to rig elections.

Just remember boys, Karma is a Bitch, and she's coming for YOU.

7. Maybe the rigged election is just karma slapping us like a bitch
Although I'm having a hard time finding out what progressives did this past century to deserve this much torture in such a short peroid of time.

9. It seems as if Republicans HATE to lose. To do so would be to lose
their identity, their raison d'etre. That's why they have the tact of a bulldozer in third gear.

10. So when the Dems filed suit to have ballots counted that had been
previously rejected, the RePugs fought it tooth and nail, including their little hate radio inspired "Ukraine uprising". As I recall, the court said no. Now that they are losing, they want to spin around 180 degrees and basically file the same suit that they fought the Dems over. How the hell can you spin that much hypocracy?

11. I think they should look at all the rejected ballots.
It gives us precedent for Ohio, and I believe that if Rossi got more votes, then he should be governor...same goes for Gregoire. Just count the freakin votes.

13. We did that.
That was the hand recount. It occurred in every county of the state, under the most honest and fair conditions you can imagine. A democrat and a republican at ever single table, watching the count of each ballot. Disputed ballots were analyzed and either accepted or rejected. It is these rejected ballots that the republicans want to get counted....in their republican strongholds.

The ballots counted in King county had not been part of this initial process, because they had been set aside and lost. They were added in only because they were totally valid ballots that should have been counted in the first place.

The ballots the republicans want to add have already been processed. They simply want a different outcome. Leave it to the republicans to mislead the public on the truth of the matter. After a month of yelling, "Don't count that vote!", now they are yelling, 'Count every vote!'. These people are bonkers.
