Video Footage of African American voter suppression in Ohio

(Video links are at bottom . Please read this first)

The Free Speech Zone (http://www.thefreespeechzone.net/) is honored to have been asked to help spread this important story to the world. Along with We Do Not Concede" and Greens For Kerry.

This video footage is a must see for everyone who feels a concern regarding the gross injustices that took place in African American precincts in Ohio on election day. We have done the civil rights movement in this country already. Heck we have had to do it a few times. Yet, if you feel that everyone is indeed equal, then you are not paying attention. Through deceitful manipulation of information and equiptment, the citizens of Ohio were often turned away from voting booths. This footage, which is in 2 parts, is a documentaion of what took place on Nov 2nd. It is only a small part of the larger story.

A press release was sent out today to the press and public this morning.

The video footage provides a first hand glimpse of what transpired in Franklin County on Election Day, only in heavily leaning Democratic precincts, including unexplained voting machine shortages, organized campaigns directing voters to the wrong polling places, malfunctioning voter tabulation equipment, election worker confusion and incompetence, and a host of other problems. However, as detailed in an official affidavit by Richard Hayes Phillips, a geomorphology Ph.D. from University of Oregon, the extent of voter disenfranchisement was systematic and widespread in African American precincts throughout the state. Dr. Phillips sworn testimony read:

"For the second Presidential election in a row African American voters have been subjugated to second class citizens through systematic efforts by Republicans to suppress, intimidate, and disenfranchise our vote," said Rev. Bill Moss, the original Plaintiff in Ohio, and founder of the Center for Freedom and Justice. "Whether its Katherine Harris or Kenneth Blackwell, the purpose is the same: do everything in their power to ensure George W. Bush becomes President. If those in power are willing and able to thwart democracy and abuse the civil rights of American voters, right in the face of the press and public, what won’t they do? I am contesting this election because tyranny, particularly in the guise of democracy, is our civic duty to fight."

2. ok. this just pisses me off, and not at the repugs. this shit is kerry
fault. sorry, but we deserved to lose if we allowed this shit to happen. ohio should have went up in flames, this shit is unacceptable. why was this allowed to happen, it's too fucking late to bitch about this now.

you know 2000, was a wake up call, but for kerry/DLC/DNC, too allow this shit to happen is just pathetic. what the fuck was the 10,000 lawyers for, to get beers for his wife.

you know I'm beginning to think we got setup. kerry was just a decoy, something to suck up all of our fucking resources, and energy. because their is no excuse for this shit to happen, none. somebody needs their asses handed to them on a platter.

I'm sorry for the fowl language, but this topic is making my blood pressure go through the roof.

4. oh it's kerry's fault alright. how in the hell could this shit be allowed
to happen, it makes no sense. kerry had 300 million dollars at his disposal, he only had to focus on 2 states. damn is that more that 1000 counties in the states of florida, and ohio.

we deserved to lose to bushco, we are total failures to have allowed our supporters to have been treated like that. do you think the repugs would have allowed their supporters to be done like that. waiting in line at 7 in the morning for 2 hours.

5. no way
do you think the repugs would have allowed their supporters to be done like that. waiting in line at 7 in the morning for 2 hours.

They would have been howling at the media and the media would have been playing their complaints 24/7. There would be investigations and commissions and on and on.

Yes, it is Kerry's fault because he was warned and he didn't believe that election fraud would happen. Right here at DU there was a story where Mark Crispin Miller brought the possibility of election fraud to Kerry's attention. While Theresa listened and became enraged, Kerry himself gave MCM a look that Miller interpreted as "tin foil hat."

It broke my heart to see those people in the film say they'd stand on line for hours if they had to. And they did and in the end, their vote was stolen anyway. This is the most fundamental betrayal of the citizens ever.

I heard a guy on a call-in show suggest that Time Magazine should have made the disenfranchised African-American voter the "Time Person of the Year." Instead they took bush, lying thief, and wrote broad strokes about his "bold leadership;" in essence putting lipstick on a pig.

6. you're right about putting lipstick on a pig. it's ridiculous for this to
have happened and kerry concedes first thing. he should have been raising holy hell. when I heard about the long lines, I thought it was because of massive turnouts, instead it's from the repug sos playing games with the voting machines.

they don't have to hack them, they just don't put them out.
