17. True, but if you just will notice KO's demeanor and comments
he does not seem to be siding with us, but with the likes of Howard Finemann.

27. I agree
I don't watch the show much, but this is not the first time I didn't feel like KO is really on our side, just by his comments and the way he presents the story (not the words of Kerry's lawyer, but his).

31. KO is not on ANYBODY'S side
and shouldn't be!!

He's a REAL journalist - not one of those biased, self-centered, imposing piece of shit we get told are "journalists" today.

He's reporting the facts, straight down the middle. This is the way reporting used to be done. I'm sorry that Rupert Murdoch has so messed with the profession that people have forgotten this.

Now, as for Fineman - he's one of the above mentioned biased, self-centered imposing pieces of shit. But we know that - so don't take his statements with a grain of salt.

4. Faye, as has been mentioned elsewhere,
this was probably taped prior to Kerry's announcement. But it does make one wonder why his lawyer apparently had no idea what was about to happen.

11. First you have to get inside the machines to get evidence of tampering as
well as compelling the Triad technicians to testify under oath under penalty of perjury. It would be foolish for Kerry's lawyers to get ahead of themselves, to show their hand--would it not?

5. so depressed
I just watched it too. Seems Kerry's lawyers are back pedalling.
Saying there is no fraud -- and no doubt Bush/Cheney won.
They don't want anybody getting the wrong idea from their previous
statement.

What the HELL is going on?
I am so disgusted, I could spit.

10. The Kerry Lawyer statement is in the blog.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/

"I would caution the media not to read more into what the Kerry-Edwards campaign has said," Mr. Hoffheimer advised us by e-mail, "than what you hear in the plain meaning of our comments. There are many conspiracy theorists opining these days. There are many allegations of fraud. But this presidential election is over. The Bush-Cheney ticket has won. The Kerry-Edwards campaign has found no conspiracy and no fraud in Ohio, though there have been many irregularities that cry out to be fixed for future elections. Senator Kerry and we in Ohio intend to fix them. When all of the problems in Ohio are added together, however bad they are, they do not add up to a victory for Kerry-Edwards. Senator Kerry's fully-informed and extremely careful assessment the day after the election and before he conceded remains accurate today, notwithstanding all the details we have since learned."

26. I'm using a tag in my post
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 09:40 PM by crispini
to make a cool looking text box. It's normal HTML, and is the acceptable way to make a text box around here. Maybe you should report it in Ask the Admins. Tell them what you told me & post the screenshot and tell them that I was using the DIV class=excerpt tag in my post. oh and tell them what browser and version of browser and that will help them figure it out.

(oh the text is just an excerpt of the KO blog, nothing really important)

cheers,
C

edit-- oh, and you may wanna include a link to this thread.

it's probably your browser though.

22. Kerry took a hard dive to the right when he conceded

And he landed on those of US barely treading water, and now he has so disabled himself from ever seeking a national office, that he’s grabbing on to what’s left of his supporters, and drowning US all in his confusion.

25. The minute Kerry suggests that Ohio may have been gamed

HE becomes the story and not the fraud. The Republican machine and the vast right wing media echo chamber then goes into action to assail him.

That becomes a big distraction from finding the truth at least in part because it politicizes the process even more and might scare off some sources.

Keep the focus on what happened and benefits to Kerry, if any, will come as a product of that.

Remember what happens to people who 'appear' to raise false allegations without solid proof - Dan Rather anyone ?
