The Columbus Free Press reports that the major television networks have refused to cooperate with the request by Congressman Conyers's panel for their exit poll data. http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/19/2004/10...

This is completely un-American that private companies could with-hold information that is key to our democracy. This information belongs in the public domain.

WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES CALL FOR THE MAJOR NETWORKS TO PROVIDE THEIR EXIT POLL DATA TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

WE FURTHER CALL UPON ALL MEDIA OUTLETS TO JOIN US IN THIS REQUEST AND TO REPORT ON THIS LACK DEMAND FOR EXIT POLL DATA.

9. There's No Way We Can Win !!!!!!

Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, it was in this book about Coups D'Etat by Edward Luttwak. The number one propaganda objective for anyone making a halfway decent power grab is to marginalize the opposition and make them believe that resistance is absolutely futile. "Don't even try, because it is a done deal," they will say.

Don't believe it. The only way to win is to fight.

"Our first objective," says Luttwak, "will be achieved by conveying the reality and strength of the coup instead of trying to justify it." 52 The goal is not to explain the legitimacy of the seizure of power, but simply to emphasize that it is a fait acompli to be accepted as fact.

This very stratagem served as the touchstone for James Baker and the entire Bush apparatus. These same semantics were reflected in the GOP's legal challenges to Gore's calls for perfectly legal (indeed, mandatory) recounts. Bush's hatchet men did not so much justify their position, as they instead merely emphasized over and over that it was a done deal."
