Did you know Olbermann is being "Watched"?
That's how "dangerous" (oooooohhhh) they think he is:

http://www.olbermannwatch.com/

My take on Keith (with no evidence to back it up):

I think Keith has a short fuse and finds himself out on a long limb...

He's perennially irked - and who can blame him - so are we :)

When you think about it, everyone else on this scene has some cover - except for Keith. His exposed dangly bits are swinging out there in the MSM.

I think he truly believes there is something.

He's hung his hat on it to some degree.

And now he feel he's hanging on the end of that limb - trying to keep the story alive and waiting to be able to report something of substance.

I keep hearing that the networks have NO resources for investigative work - why would they - why hunt when they are fed the news?

I can understand why he would periodically run home to mama when there is no safe place to hide and no friends in Stolenelectionville.

1. I think I agree. He has seemed pissy of late. Perhaps he is tired of
hanging off that limb.

2. KO is too smart for TV
He's the smartest guy on TV today, right up there with the Jon Stewart crowd, only KO takes it seriously.

Yeah, he's done a courageous and risky thing, keeping this story alive, and he's been getting nothing to help him along, since there don't appear to be any leaks.

I think that's great, and I think that's part of the plan.

And I think he's gonna end up with a big fat smile on his face, the Woodstein of this generation.

6. I think he is doing good
He reported on the Kerry filing. He did put Rumsfeld on the spot, I really loved that, and he was wearing an orange tie.

I think he has to act a bit like he doesn't really believe in the whole thing for his own safety.

I'm not giving up on KO or K/E.

9. because KO has actual "news" O'Lielly is "opinion"
The people who watch KO have a brain and want to know what exactly is going on, presented in the appropriate context.

The people who watch O'Lielly don't want rational information presented in context, they merely want to hear justification of what their small minds already believe to be true.

We already know at least 50% of this nation is comprised of idiots who want their information spoon-fed to them. Also, I'd counter with the fact that KO doesn't have a radio show, book deals, or Roger Ailes and KKKarl Rove promoting him at every turn.

Given the above, the ONLY conclusion I can draw is that Keith is kicking ass!

12. Other than Matthews, no one has ever gotten very good ratings on MSNBC
Although I don't think that Matthews is doing that well anymore either, IIRC.

27. Donahue's ratings were higher than Matthews
snip>
Mr. Donahue's show had been growing slightly over the past few months, and he was actually attracting more viewers than any other show on MSNBC, even the channel's signature prime-time program "Hardball With Chris Matthews." Mr. Matthews's show has averaged 413,000 viewers over the last month.

Good news for our boy Keith
by kohlmanobserver
Wed Dec 1st, 2004 at 17:06:49 PST

TVnewser (a great blog by the way) has a post today with regard to Novembers cable ratings. Our boy Keith Olbermann had a good month according to the ratings, up 128% in the 25-54 year old demographic. Heres the link to the TVnewser post LINK Anyway its almost 8pm Eastern right now so stop reading this, tune in to Countdown and send Keith emails. We need his voice on TV right now to combat the right-wing sound machine.

21. Also, KO Is On Cable
All cable programming, except for the rare breakout hit like "Sex and the City," reaches a much smaller audience than the broadcast networks. So comparing KO's numbers to O'Lielly's numbers is really apples to oranges. Among cable news channels, Keith has one of the most-watched program by far. KO has a smaller audience than "Desparate Housewives," but in the world of cable news KO is doing just fine.

24. FXNC (fox news channel) is cable
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 03:19 PM by artv28
but you're right about the network news. O'Reilly doesn't get nearly the viewers of Jennings, Rather, and Brokaw. Until one of the big 3 networks steps up on the fraud issue it really won't get out there unless a major newspaper puts it on the front page.

22. overall MSNBC ratings are well behind Fox.
The top 11 cable news shows are all Fox followed by Larry King at #12. Tweedy has the highest MSNBC show at #14. I actually think MSNBC is the best of the 3 (although still not balanced enough). I cannot handle Scarborough, he is almost as annoying as O'Reilly and Hannity.

Besides the fact that Fox owners have a right-wing agenda, they also dumb down the news in order to cater do the most common denominator. Most common denominator = highest ratings. The problem is this common denominator consist of many stupid and/or lazy people. Just my .02 cents.

11. i thought it was obvious he was irked at the mixed messages the
kerry filing vs the lawyer quote gave him. it's an honest reaction. exasperation!
he reported the story with an appropriate amount of chagrin. IMHO.
it's not his fault the milkman didn't have his bottles in a row!

16. He did email me back re: my complaint about the Hoffmeier denial of Fraud
I think he IS trying, but something is still not 'right.'

Was anyone else bothered by his "boss's" picture and post last week on Keith's site? I almost felt like they had moved Keith to a TRULY "undisclosed" location, and were "taking over."
