2. We must have a Senator contest the results
or it's meaningless.

I predict that there is not a single Senator with the balls to contest it, especially Kerry.

7. How about Ted Kennedy?
He's good at speaking his mind, regardless of what others in the Senate think.

14. If Kerry does not contest himself why would any other Senator?
I can't imagine any Senator intentionally subjecting themselves to the shit storm it would provoke.

16.  I predict you are wrong. I have a feeling that there will be more
Than one and I wouldn't be surprised to see a republican. They don't ,unless up for reelection have anything to lose. They will contest unless, like Gore,Kerry tells them not to. But I think Kerry will leave it to their discretion.I don't think Kerry will contest as it should really come from the others for it to look unbiased. I hope I am right and you are wrong!:)

28. I find your hope more productive
than the dour, insulting "predictions" about the "balls" of certain senators.

I don't see how it's helpful or, indeed, remotely useful to our cause to go about saying "it's all over," "so-and-so screwed us," "no one will stand up," "so-and-so is self serving."

Why not simply try everything we can to get this fraud exposed, including continuing to urge our congresspersons to represent us fairly? By all means, express frustration or lack of faith, but quit making smug predictions (not you, saracat!) that discourage others from continuing the fight.

More ironically pragmatic optimism from this personal pessimist. :)

25. I heard back from Leahy
He said, "Since Senator John Kerry has conceded, I have no
intention of contesting the results of the election."

26. That is VERRRY discouraging. Is he up for reelection?
If the concession doesn't have any legal standing do you think he is taking it as a request that he NOT contest?

9. Maxine has experience at this (most sadly) but she will
be magnificent in speaking about this. More power to Maxine Waters!:yourock:

Need some brave and intrepid congress folks to be with her in spirit, voice and action!

10. I wish Robert Byrd would be one of many. I wonder why he
didn't stand in 2000? He's *the* defender of The Constitution. Surely he realizes that everything depends on an honest vote from the electorate.

If not a single Senator stands for this, we may as well kiss the 2-party system goodbye and embrace fascism.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters Will Challenge Ohio Electors

Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California (http://www.house.gov/waters /) stated on the Randi Rhodes radio show on Air America Radio that she, along with other members of the House of Representatives, will be challenging the seating of the Ohio electors when the Congress meets in joint session on January 6th.

18. It'll be the same as in 2000:
congresspersons will contest it, but no senator will join them. So they will be ignored.

20. Someone must stand
We the people will never let them forget it. We all saw F-911. hell never again will they let that happen. they cant. their future is at stake. they are toast in the senate anyway. they better be pleasing us instead of their buddies in office.

we (well maybe we dont) put them in office. i had to think about that for a moment.

but i dont think we will let this go quietly. there will be revolt there will be marches and there may be revolution if the senate leaves the congress standing alone.

22. Go Maxine!!!!!
I have this weird gut instinct that we may be pleasantly surprised on Jan. 6th! Things have changed since 2000...
"Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you no to."-Miracle on 34th Street

If there is no hope, then what do we have left to hold onto? I will never stop believing that we are waging a just and righteous battle against the morally bankrupt "evildoers" in this country. Don't forget...TRUTH is THEIR enemy!!!!!! PEACE!!!:)

29. Go Sister Maxine!

Let um have it on Jan. 6th.

My popcorn is ready.

If I know Maxine she will speak her mind and call names if the Senators are not ready to defend the rights of those voters that had their voting rights suppressed.
