Ohio Recount -Officialy Over- Ends in Laughable Outcome

Ohio Recount Ends, Shows Vote Closer

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=366128
Election officials finished the presidential recount in Ohio on Tuesday, with the final tally shaving about 300 votes off President Bush's six-figure margin of victory in the state that gave him a second term.

The recount shows Bush winning Ohio by 118,457 votes over John Kerry, according to unofficial results provided to The Associated Press by the 88 counties. Lucas County, home to Toledo, was the last to finish counting.....

THREE HUNDRED VOTES !!

The fraudulence of the recount is now clear.

Try this alternative report :)

Ohio Fake Recount Ends, Shows Piddling Change

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=366128
Election officials finished their faked presidential recount in Ohio on Tuesday, trusting to luck that the public will not suspect that a final tally shaving Bush's six-figure margin of victory by only about 300 votes, was based on a limited recount of cherry-picked precincts.

The recount shows Bush winning Ohio by 118,457 votes over John Kerry, virtually unchanged from the first count. An unsurprising outcome, given that officials recounting their favorite precincts were supplied with "cheat sheets" giving the "correct" totals to ensure countywide hand recounts were avoided.....

:) Great news for relatives of those stuck in prolonged coma in hospitals around America.
Rush to your loved ones! Read them this report!

:) Indeed, even the certifiably brain dead are likely to get this:

It Wasn't A Recount. It was a Reissue of the original count!

3. Was that discrepancy BEFORE or AFTER they retooled the machines?
Since the machines are always right, which machine count was accepted? I hope they didn't use the hand count because, well, what you see before your own eyes can be unreliable at times.

5. Ohio Recount Ends, Shows Vote Closer (AP)
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20041228/ap_on_re_us/ohio_vote

By JOHN SEEWER, Associated Press Writer

TOLEDO, Ohio - Election officials finished the presidential recount in Ohio on Tuesday, with the final tally shaving about 300 votes off President Bush (news - web sites)'s six-figure margin of victory in the state that gave him a second term.

The recount shows Bush winning Ohio by 118,457 votes over John Kerry (news - web sites), according to unofficial results provided to The Associated Press by the 88 counties. Lucas County, home to Toledo, was the last to finish counting.

The state had earlier declared Bush the winner by 118,775 votes and plans to adjust its totals to reflect the recount later this week.

The Kerry campaign supported the recount, but said it did not expect the tally to change the election winner. Supporters of the recount, requested by two minor party candidates, said they wanted to make sure every valid vote was counted.

7. Contact the AP reporter and tell him about his incomplete reporting!
John Seewer at the Associated Press -- "Ohio Recount Ends, Shows Vote Closer"
The only contact info at the AP is: info@ap.org
Let him know that many witnesses and the Green party do not feel that the recount was conducted legally, or according to state law. His exclusion of these points (the 3% random count, Triad incident, etc) paints a VERY incomplete and misleading picture.

10. What can we do?
Well, I am depressed. What else can we do. I keep getting my hopes up and then trashed again. I think it is just time to focus on 2008. This is going nowhere.

(Sorry for the rant)

THIS IS GREAT NEWS !!

If the tally showed a difference of say... 17,345 votes after the recount,
we would have a hard sell to convince that there was something up.
Too complicated to explain all the numbers to Joe Sixpack.

But 300 Votes!!
That makes the point for us.
Let's go for the KO punch (sic)

It was NOT a real recount.
That's why there was no substantial change.

Simple soundbytes are part of this too.
This is a beauty.

12. your post doesn't make sense
if the vote was off by 17,000 from the original recount that would more than justify a complete HAND Recount of the entire State.

13. Pick a lower figure then...
Pick any figure that can be presented by electoral authorities,
to indicate a thorough and substantial recount has taken place.

300 votes is not such a number.

14. so you are saying that there should be MORE of a descrepency??
again, I'm sorry but that doesn't make sense. how does a more substantial number indicate that a thorough recount has taken place??

if the original count was accurate then the recount will be quite close to that too. Alas, it was.

If there is a 17,000 vote difference than that would show that the original count was NOT accurate or that there are serious problems with machines, or fraud.

15. Olbermann's Blog
said that one county did a full hand recount and "found" about 1,000 votes. It that is the case, then all the recounts in all the other counties would have had to have found only a few extra votes from "hanging chads that came loose in the second handling." I didn't write down the numbers but the total was something like 700 more for Kerry 400 more for *. This makes no sense to me at all.

16. They must think we are so gullible!
If there was fraud to start with, of course, the recount will be about the same. What about the 92,000 that weren't counted? What about all the people who didn't get to vote but were turned away for various reasons? What about the machines that defaulted to Bush when people really voted for Kerry? When do we count those votes? It just doesn't make any sense. We need a revote. We need to expose the fraud. Please people, let's not let them get away with this type of deception.

And then I tried to light up the MoveOn gurus. They pooh-poohed me.

18. What needs to happen is...
Someone hack the final total by, 120,000 vote for Kerry.

Then the Bushies will go ballistic, start screaming "Bloody Murder!" (that's just an old expression,:silly: for all you kids out there, it would be more like "they try to steal election :dunce:") Then the MSM kicks into full shrill mode, the GOP and RNC start screaming for a re-vote or recount and "Poof," we get our recount.

Isn't there someone here who can do that with out going to jail?

21. Jim Petro is an a**
>>>Attorney General Jim Petro has called the challenge frivolous and argued that the state Supreme Court does not have jurisdiction over a federal election.

Cliff Arnebeck, an attorney representing the voters in the challenge, wasn't taking much stock in the recount effort. He questioned why there was no independent investigation into the accuracy of counting machines to determine whether the machines had been tampered with.

"You're allowing the original error to be repeated a second time, so it's not a meaningful recount," he said..<<<

22. As one who actually worked on the recount, I really wish you...
please wouldn't use the words "Ends in Laughable Outcome" in your headline.

IT DID NOT.

Ohio was the first time anybody has been successful in bringing about any kind of a full state-wide recount of a presidential vote (even though, by law, we were only able to get a full hand count on 3%.) Those of us who were actually on the ground in Ohio don't think what we did was "laughable" at all.

The recount did EXACTLY what we expected it to do. As I said before on here, no, we didn't find 119,000 spare votes for John Kerry hiding under some Buckeye rock. But what we DID do was find a lot of things that lead to more questions -- there is much reason to investigate further. And we found a lot of things that are just screaming for change and improvement.

Several thousand volunteer observers worked very hard during the Ohio recount to document every detail we could, so that investigations can proceed, and hopefully changes can be made for the future.

Now for the long haul -- we all need to work to bring about those investigations and changes.

Marybeth
