"An open letter to Senator John Kerry"
No, not a letter I wrote. Is one written by Bob Fertik, longtime activist that has appeared on TV quite a few times.

I don't suscribe the document as a whole but is an interesting read, IMO.

1. Great summary...
A good "first read" for anyone who hasn't followed the issues in Ohio.

2. It sounds like someone who gave Kerry advice on Nov. 3rd is butt-covering
Kerry told Jesse Jackson he conceeded on November 3rd because he'd believed what he'd been told, implying that he didn't feel he'd been told everything at the time.

This person's emphasis on Kerry's careful and well-informed decision on Nov. 3 makes it sound as if his own personal butt rested on it being well-informed.

So who is this guy and what is his exact role in the Kerry organization. Enquiring minds want to know. Will googling do anything, I wonder?

(googling)

Dan Hoffheimer is a probate lawyer? That's the only one I can find in Ohio. He's been the most verbal about all of this. He generally says the same thing, "We're not trying to flip the election. We're just following through with Kerry's promise. Nothing to see, nothing to see."

Don McTigue has been involved in the recount process for the Ohio Dem Party and "Ohioans Protecting the Constitution."

I don't know. Is Dan talking out his butt. Which one has his finger on the pulse.

(a probate lawyer!?!?!?!)

3. Good letter
Thanks for post it. Will be curious to see if Kerry resonds and if so, what his response is.

Ten days until Jan 6.

4. But what's this
http://blog.democrats.com/node/1935

I found this in a google search

"Kerry's new lawyer"?

McTigue is Kerry's new lawyer? Does that mean anything? Is Danny boy out of the loop perhaps? Maybe not agressive enough?

6. That's what I understand
McTigue provides a different point of view.

Is a "2 ways" approach and the strategy is working fine.

8. It's just Kerry covering all his bases.
I read that Democrats.com blog referencing the "new" lawyer and thought the same thing. For some reason, Kerry would rather have McTigue working in Ohio affairs than Hoffheimer.

Throwing this thread in the mix, it becomes clear enough what's going on.

Honestly, this man is the most obsessive-compulsive person I've heard of. Ever. Bar none.

He doesn't want to cry "fraud" unless he is 100 percent sure of it, which--for whatever reason--he isn't yet. He's been burned way too many times by Repugs and he doesn't want to even risk being forever tarred with accusing the Bushies of fraud and conspiracy if it turned out to be false. Yet he wants the whole business investigated, and quickly--hence the motion for an expedited discovery--just in case there was bigtime fraud.

If you'll excuse a bit of boasting (which is necessary to make my point), I haven't lost a chess game to a human opponent in four years. But I would not risk screwing up my record by playing against Kerry. No f'ing way.

10. I've heard people call him obsessive compulsive before
and suggest that's why much of the delay with the Smear vets. He wanted to present absolute, put it to rest, proof the Smear vets were lying. Doesn't exactly suggest "rapid response" though, does it.

Yep, he sure is. But that's a GOOD thing when you're an investigator, right?
