As you probably know by now, when I have something to say, I say it. Usually it's in fits and starts on all of the threads in this forum. Sometimes it's a theory I need to air, sometimes it's a rant, and sometimes it's long and rambling. This is all of those. And a bit more.

We are Conspiracy Theorists, Liberals, Commies, Deaniacs, Drama Queens, Bitchy, Kerrycrats, Vegetarians, Gay, Straight, Bi-sexual, Black, White, Red, Yellow, Pink, Orange, Anarchists, Greens, Independents, Republicans, Moderate, Fundamental, Religions, Athiest, Crazy, Brilliant, and Stupid. We are, all of us, something. We are. You have to be.

So, when the Corporate Media labels us as any of the above, that's not entirely their fault. When someone that some admire offers two contrasting statements from the same lawyer and tries to make sense of it (as we all are), that's not entirely his fault.

To those who do not like being labeled a conspiracy theorist: "What if?" is a golden phrase. It makes scientists, writers, philosophers, politicians, inventors, conspiracy theorists and so much more. It shows thinking and imagination. Never stop asking "What if?" Don't be bothered by who calls you what. Just realize that if you wear your Tin Foil Hat out of the house, people are going to notice it on your head.

When this place exploded last night, it was a sight to see. A gigantic pie fight. Some of us hid in the kitchen (where the best parties always are!). Some of us hid in the Lounge. Some of us with strong constitutions (no pun intended) stuck it out in the pits. It is not unthinkable that we would be at odds on many issues. This is the beauty of Liberalism. You can have your own opinion and we will accept it. That's what we do. More power to all of us. But let's not waste that energy. Let's use our power for good instead of evil.

We went off on each other on so many threads asking everything from What's up with John Kerry, Kerry's lawyers, Keith Olbermann, Keith Olbermann's blog, What's Going on? Who are these people? Do you have a match? and Who the hell are you? to Shut the Hell up!

It is imperative that we all focus on our goals. Let's not waste time fighting the small, stupid fights amongst ourselves. We have many more important things to concentrate on: election reform, democracy, the BFEE, the future of the country and the view of our country around the world, to name but a few.

So, towards the goal of unity and sanity: DU Rocks. This Election Results Forum Rocks! We all Rock!

Or put more plainly:

Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think

5. I've always been fond of hats. Felt, wool, baseball caps....

tin foil is fine. Never have a problem with fit either with a tin foil hat. They are so easily adjustable! They are a bit problematic in a strong wind though, but then they are easy to replace. Keep posting, Patsy. I enjoy your posts. :tinfoilhat:

Much work still to be done, many battles left to fight, many points yet to be made. Our power in vocalizing our common message in a cool, clear voice and all of this energy focused towards our goals will do great things.

There is infighting among the opposition which is greater than our own. They are the ones on the brink of an internal unraveling. This in-fighting will be our greatest ally and we will use it -- we must not fall prey to it ourselves.

We're all going to get through this together. Keep the Faith :)

I stumbled on this forum, the first I ever noticed, read for a few days, then signed up.

It was great to find a place with news-references, analysis, opinion, and wonderfully funny bits of humor and sarcasm.

Last night, however, was a bit more than I expected.

Reasonable questions were hardly answered, great points over-looked, and what seems to me a willingness to post without having read the thread through. Then, other questions, lying there answered by thoughtful participants, being asked over and over and over again. (ARE WE THERE, YET?!?)

When that happens, DU seems a better place for entertaining 'freepers' than for task presumably at hand.

Hope I picked a good thread on which to vent an observation.

but that IS a weird coincidence about the song, huh? Your post made me think of that song, which I like as it speaks to the many-faceted aspects of personality and characteristics.

True story: Last week, my co-worker's 13-year old niece ran away in the morning, and as she told me what was going on and as she was trying to figure out whether to fly out or drive out to Kansas, I said, "Oh, there's no rush, they're going to find her right before midnight." It was weird, because the statement just popped out. She says, "Oh, that made me feel better. You're psychic, right?" I'm like, "No. I'm a registered skeptic - I'm just really intuitive. I have a strong feeling that she's fine and they will find her tonight." Anyway, they found her safe and sound (in Nebraska) at 11:35pm that night. It's a good story and a really good coincidence.

I'm glad that turned out well. I get "feelings" too. I am also a born skeptic. That's why all of my feelings about this insanity make me believe. I believe, damn it. I don't ever believe, but this time I do.

Everytime I think I'm insane, something comes out to prove I'm right (or at the very least, not insane). Hell, even the freeps told me I was right today with that weird "Kerry's got all that money and he's trying to overturn the election" article someone posted.

What are they hiding? Either they're award-winningly stupid, and Kathy's going to go and ask for the deposit back on the Ryder van tomorrow, or, could it be that they're hiding something? What are they hiding?

You are where I am. And where many others who haunt this forum are... You are showing that you are part of the reality-based community. We have unplugged from the Matrix. There is no going back.

I not only believe, but I *want* to believe - which is somehow stronger. As the fundies would say, I am "believing" and "claiming" John Kerry into the Presidency (or at the very least, * out of the presidency in disgrace). I have such strong sense of injustice, of rage, of righteous indignation, of shock and outright denial about the Selection of * and the perpetration of election fraud - that I am *forcing* my will upon the *forces* of the universe. The God of the Universe has to hear me, because I am willing this to happen (for justice to prevail) with a constant litany of forceful communication.

Call it a grief reaction, insanity, prayer or whatever you will - but I believe that with all of us rowing in the same direction, by focusing, believing, digging, researching, writing, and yes, even just hoping and praying...the truth will out, justice will prevail.
