Innauguration Parties More Important Than Aiding Disaster Victims
"Inaugural organizers initially estimated that the cost for three days of events would reach $50 million. Last week, the committee said it would spend $30 million to $40 million, all of it from private donations."

The innauguration parties will cost Over $50 Million, yet we can only give $35 Million in aid for potentially the worst natural disaster in World History.

At least we have our priorities straight.

1. Since Bush is such a "good Christian,"
I'm sure all the inaugural parties will be canceled and the money that would have been spent on them will be given to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami. NOT! NEVER!

3. Actually the US is now in the lead for international aid in this disaster
US= 35 million + Marines sent with food and water that was deverted from the military

Australia has pledged 27 million

Saudi Arabia has pledged 10 million

Pakistan has sent some aid totaling approx. $168,000

Chine? India? Russia? UK?

The UN and 20 of the more prominent org.'s involved in disaster aid have begun assistance. Numerous funds are available for private donations if you're still interested. Check Google.

4. It's astounding, isn't it?
"Let 'em eat seawater."

* is amazing. Just when I think I can't hate a single human being any more than I already do, he goes and impresses me yet again. I am learning I have a capacity for hate that I never dreamed of. I don't think I wanted to know that. Thanks again, fucker.

8. No ...

Actually, I don't even know what that means.

Tens of thousands of people are dead, and we're going to spend millions on a party for an idiot.

Hell, I'd complain if it were Kerry being inaugurated.

6. Here's a thought ...

The worst disaster to hit the planet in a generation occurred a couple days ago, yes worse than 9/11 for all those out there that seem fixated on the event as the end-all-be-all of human history.

I think that might call for cancelling all the inaugural ceremonies except what is consitutionally required and donating the funds that would have been spent on disaster relief. How exactly could a good, Christian man like Fearless Leader(tm) refuse a notion like that.

11. Would not surprise me
if KKK rove is already looking into ways to do this. Cut out the pomp and a few of the balls to take advantage of this. They made a silk purse out of 9-11 they will do the same with this and make the chimp look like a compassionate human being. We know better , but they should cut out the inauguration and release the money to be spent to disaster relief. But we know the real reason the FUCKERS will do it. Nothing from the shrub yet, won't take leadership, just waiting to see how Karl can best spin the horror. What worthless fucks.

9. Is anyone surprised?? They don't give a damn about anyone
else... unless they're the very wealthy and/or corporations.

I'm not in the least surprised. Disgusted, yes-- but that's been my prevailing attitude for four years now

10. "The Election was about values." NOT lives of children....
remember these are the people who claim Bush as a Christian while he rarely attends any kind of church services.

Several times in the Bible the obligation to help those in need is listed as neccesary for the love of god. I can think of no-one on the planet now who is more in need than these poor people who have lost everything. They don't even have water to drink and all we can spare is a paltry few million.

Where is their God when our leaders need to be chastised.

14. Interesting point
It is largely corporate donations funding this excessive inaugeral ball, not taxpayer money. Though we have plenty to be PO'd at President Bush about, in this case, it might make more sense to be putting pressure on the corporate donors to make equivalent aid contributions to the impacted areas rather than blame the President. And I promise I'm not a freeper, you can search for my other posts to prove it.
