32. The UN was against the Iraq war because their leaders are smarter
than the idiot 59 Million ignorant Americans have elected.

We should have never gone into Iraq and they knew it.

And by the way, the US was aware about aid not going to the Iraqi people and turned a blind eye to it. Here is a link:

http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBL6TH2M2E.html

But, of course, stupid Bush lovers will always find someone else to blame. The blame the UN because they didn't let themselves bully into killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis, so the US can secure more oil for themselves. Nice little witch hunt in retaliation. And, of course, there is always Clinton to blame for everything else. Taking responsibility is not something Republicans do.

50. Both Clinton and the current "President" George W. Bush ignored it
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 11:52 AM by tandot
http://www.oilforfoodfacts.org/facts/smuggling.html

There is much blame to go around. The US played as much a part in the whole scandal as any other nation. You have to ask Dubya and Clinton why they ignored it. In 1998, when Clinton signed the waiver, he was in the middle of a Republican-lead witch-hunt to investigate an extra-marital affair between two consenting adults. It seems that for Republicans, investigating a blow-job is more important than a President being able to take care of the business of the US.

Actually, a blow-job seems to warrant millions of our tax money for investigating, while starting a completely unnecessary war and killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi apparently doesn't.

Maybe Dubya signed the waiver because raising ruckus would have interfered with his plan for his Iraq crusade to bring Christianity to Muslims and more Oil to Americans???

I can't answer your questions. But to blame Kofi Annan for everything is nothing more than another witch-hunt.

66. We'll see what the Paul Volcker report says
if Kofi is at fault, of course he should go.

I guess lots of Americans don't care about "innocent until proven guilty" ... just hang'em now and deal with the facts later...??? There are lots of rumors spread by the Bush Gestapo. I'd rather wait for the facts to come out.

I guess the gas prices are so high because we haven't been able to take advantage of Iraqi oil...yet. Bush apparently thought that the Iraqis would just turn over and not fight for their country and THEIR resources.

And a blow-job is a blow-job...no matter where it happens. He should have had more control and kept his d*ck in his pants. But impeaching him for that??? Please.

explosives unguarded and marched right past it to Baghdad. That's what they are using now to blow up our troops. Not the soldiers fault, their LEADERS told them to secure the oil fields and not to stop to secure anything else.

61. Yeah, and the UN warned us to make sure to guard them but we were too
busy marching to the oil fields. Our men were there, the weapons were intact when they stayed overnight there. If there had been enough of them on the ground to do the job right in the first place, don't you think a smart military order would have been to leave enough men in place to guard them and send others along to guard the oil? So only the UN f*cked up here.

69. The 9/11 commission findings were just the tip of the iceberg, even Bob
Kerrey, one of its members, said they were frustrated in their efforts to get to the bottom of any number of important questions, which remain unanswered. Why was Norad told to stand down? Why was Sibel Edmunds important testimony not heard? Why did an FAA official destroy the tapes taken from the air traffic controllers in NYC airspace that would have been crucial evidence in determining what happened? Why did Condi attempt to not testify, and then proceed to lie and obfuscate when she was on the stand. Why did His Fraudulency stonewall the commission in the first place and then testify without being under oath and holding Darth Cheney's hand? The commission had no teeth and big gaping holes. Not F*cking good enough!

Right now, the UN would be the best coordinator of massive relief. They already have the infrastructure in place.

And the last time I looked, Florida was in the US. And as far as being rebuilt, I happened to drive down I-75 past Port Charlotte twice this week-end, and it doesn't look rebuilt to me.

30 million (loaned, not given outright btw) for a disaster that has killed close to 100K people is chicken feed. Great leaders are the ones that helped the Allies win in WWII and had the temerity and intellect to get the job done right in rebuilding Europe. News Flash, * is not a great leader, he is a thief, a liar, and a war criminal for starters. The world is not waiting with baited breath for his speech today about the tsunami disaster. He has fixed it so that the US does not have the moral high ground on anything. We are all wearing the blue dress now, thanks to His Fraudulency.

In twist, world offers aid to U.S.

LONDON, Sept. 14 — As dust settled over the ruins of New York’s World Trade Center and U.S. airspace reopened, offers of help for the victims of America’s worst terrorist attacks poured in from around the globe. Although the United States has not publicly accepted any international assistance, foreign governments, aid agencies and corporations were eager to join the search and rescue effort, and to provide support for survivors and families of the victims.

http://www.msnbc.com/news/628777.asp?cp1=1

Even this guy offered humanitarian aid

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/meast/09/20/gen.iraq.saddam/

You expect the rest of the world to remember what the US did generations ago and you can't even remember what they did for 3 years.

And even though they DID, why should the rest of the world rush to help? We are the richest nation on earth! Alms for the filthy rich?

No ad libs. Ad libs lead to real remarks, real remarks that can later be brushed off as "mis-speaking."

Sadly, I think we've seen the last of the Bushisms for awhile. That was bad PR and it needs controlling. We'll have to look to Rummy for those poems of his and all of the absurdity.

Also, when you have responses to reporters questions at News Conferences already written on 3x5 cards before they ask them, the death knell tolls for any truth, it's more like he's a guest on The Tonight Show.

38. There was a crawl this morning on CNN
Something about a poll and how * was 4 times more popular among the people they asked than Clinton was.

Um, first: I say BS! (of course, who they asked was relative)
Next: Why did they take this poll? Isn't Bill out of office already? It couldn't just be a gratutitous slap at the Dems, could it?
Last: Why did they report this? It was, btw, running underneath the tsunami footage. I had a Jon Stewart "Bootylicious" moment.

Truly, we are in the world of the absurd.

46. WHERE'S BIN LADEN, JACKASS?!
Sorry, I just had to shout.

Having said that, I want to add that America has lost it's pride. I just went through nearly three months of financial gauntlet, only to be let down every step of the way. People are not proud. It's because we have no future. A leader could make a difference. But since all we have is a fascist pig, who only serves his corporate cronies and masters, the people have lost their will to be proud. Thanks for listening to my little rant.

63. MSNBC criticizes him for being stingy and uncaring, check their headline
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 12:16 PM by McCamy Taylor
Yesterday the vampire-space aliens at CNN were having a discussion about how if the US gives charitable aid to other countries they should expect to able to tell those countries how to run things (I kid you not, I thought I was gonna barf.)

:puke:

I submit this as proof that MSNBC is actually better than CNN.

Was the Bush statement canned? Not? This is actually a big deal--I think--people have been wondering where he's been over the last couple of days He has been looking so good lately in a serious, my-God-what-is-he-on kind of way--has anyone posted the video of his statement?

I'm a doctor! I can help him!!!!
