Question and Request Regarding Vote Tabulation
I have another thread in which I've identified certain precincts in Cuyahoga County Ohio that have some anomalies.

Both the initial and final tallies for over 400 precincts seem to be related to Bush's 2000 total in each precinct.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=197869&mesg_id=197869

1) My question is: Why are there differences between the tallies? Are the ballots run through the machines more than once? Are absentee ballots added to precinct counts? Are ballots found on the floor, etc?

2) I'm seeking the following for any counties in Ohio (or elsewhere for that matter). On a precinct level.

a) 2000 Presidential Results
b) Initial Presidential Results
c) Final Presidential Results

Any format is fine.

Send any files to sunburst59#att.net (change the # to @)

Thanks.

1. Fairfield County Preliminary Results
would be great for a starter. If anybody has those, I would love to see them. I've got the 2000 and 2004 Official already.

Thanks.

2. I have preliminary results if no one else posts

I took them the first day or two off of the SOS website, and have them in a spread sheet.

If no one else has them, I'll send them later tonight (I'm at work now).

3. I'd LOVE to have a spreadsheet ....
that has precinct by precinct results for several counties. I'd love it even more if I could have them from 2000 (and '96, etc.). Is this available anywhere?

4. The Secretary of State (Ohio)
Website has these numbers -- though they are the certified numbers, not the preliminary numbers http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/results/11-02-04.htm -- they have numbers there for decades.

They can be copied and pasted into Excel -- but there aren't any calculations.

However I've found discrepencies between some of their pages in 2004 (there are multiple pages, and some numbers don't completely sync up.) This was more with my preliminary 2004 data than the 2000 data I was looking at, but I burned out about the time I found DU, and jknapp and others were doing a hell of a lot more than I could, so I stopped my late night number crunching. I haven't even gone back to correct my numbers from the preliminary data to the certified data yet...

5. Thanks
This is a great resource for county totals. What I'm seeking though, is precinct-level results, particularly the unofficial results that got posted on November 3 or so.

Whatever I receive I will consolidate and share with all.

7. GOTTA have precinct numbers
They're the most important thing in the world. I'm sure the parties get the precinct totals, as well who voted. Do the Dems just throw them in the trash can?! Its obvious the other side knows what to do with their numbers...

:grr:

8. That's why its important to see the poll books
which many BOEs refused to let the volunteers see....

6. I don't have precinct breakdowns -- but I was comparing
some things with primary turnout to General Election turnout (People voting as Democrat or Republican in the Primary .vs the General Election) -- a flawed assumption because not everyone votes in primaries, but thought I could get an idea in some counties of who originally voted Democrat .vs Reublican (I'm NOT a math person, just like to play with Excel sometimes, and I know my assumptions could have been way off....which is one of the reasons I dropped my look at 2000)

Anyway -- I have preliminary numbers of Election night by county, and District numbers from March 04 (the Primary) in which there are some counties that are represented in 2 or more districts.

If you are interested still -- let me know here, or email me tnt#isoc.net
