Rossi to have news conference tonight (Wed) to say he won't concede--
Just saw this on the local news website:

The secretary of state (WA) certifies results Thursday, making Democrat Christine Gregoire the governor-elect.

After more than 2.8 million votes were counted three times, she won by 129 votes.

But Republican Dino Rossi is not conceding. He called a news conference at his Bellevue headquarters Wednesday evening to say there are too many questions remaining.

Rossi had won the first count by 261 votes and the first recount by 42.

The new governor will be sworn in Jan. 12. Republicans have until Jan. 20 to contest the election in court.

5. Dino Rossi is a Republican SORE LOSERMAN
N in Seattle over at Daily Kos says it as well as it can be said:
After being rebuffed by several county Canvassing Boards, Dino Rossi (R-unemployed snake oil salesman) still isn't ready to give up. While his handlers continue to derogate the open, public, bi-partisan work of King County's vote counters and Canvassing Board, Rossi is scheduled to hold a press conference [subscription required]] this afternoon.

He isn't conceding, we're told. It's unlikely that he'll reveal what he and slimy Chris Vance, chair of the WA GOP, have in mind for future interference, but who knows?
We know. We know this is not the conduct of an honest politixcal candidate but of a cheap-shot, gimme-gimme, I'm-entitled-'cause-Rove-is-my-role-model Republican sore loserman.

Eat that, Dino!

4. Oh look...
Now that the shoe is on the other foot, they're screaming their heads off.

Where are all the Republicans calling him "tin-foil-hat" guy now?

What questions does Rossi have, exactly?

Rossi: "Dammit, ROVE! You told me those machines would assure me the vote! What happened?!"

Questions like that?

HAH.

8. And now they will learn that the concession means nothing. It is mearly
a tradition. A sign of grace and statesmanship, both of which, Republicans are completely lacking.

25. The pukes are simply shameless. They are incredible hypocrites.
They do whatever it takes to grab power regardless of the rules of democracy.
I will give the democrats a bit more time. People are fighting, but we no longer have a voice in the main stream media. We have to be very careful in our approach.

Closest governor's race: It's Governor-elect Gregoire, but Rossi seeks 'do-over'
DAVID AMMONS, AP Political Writer

Wednesday, December 29, 2004

(12-29) 18:50 PST OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) --

The night before Washington's secretary of state was scheduled to certify Democrat Christine Gregoire as the governor-elect, her Republican rival Dino Rossi called for a complete re-do of the longest, closest governor's race in state history.

"The uncertainty surrounding this election process isn't just bad for you and me -- it is bad for the entire state. People need to know for sure that the next governor actually won the election," Rossi said Wednesday evening, reading from a letter he sent to Gregoire.

"A revote would be the best solution for the people of our state, and would give us a legitimate governorship," the letter added.

Republican Calls for Revote in Wash. Race

Thursday December 30, 2004 3:01 AM

By DAVID AMMONS

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Republican Dino Rossi on Wednesday urged his Democratic rival in the closest governor's race in state history to join him in calling for a revote.

``The uncertainty surrounding this election process isn't just bad for you and me - it is bad for the entire state,'' Rossi said, reading from a letter he said he sent to Democrat Christine Gregoire. ``People need to know for sure that the next governor actually won the election.''

A call to the Gregoire campaign was not immediately returned. She is scheduled to be certified as Washington's governor-elect Thursday, by a scant 129 votes out of more than 2.8 million cast.

27. What a whiner in his press conference, he did not do himself any favors
I think anyone who actually voted for him might've felt a bit of relief that he didn't win. Pissy and whiney at the same time - yikes!
Of course, the do like Bush, so perhaps they have a defective perception gene that just doesn't register pissy whiney.
