You don't need to steal an election
(this inspired by the rage stirred in me in seeing the video at the link below and listening to Howard Fineman on Countdown state there were just a few problems, no outright fraud in Ohio and that they’ll look into those problems –“a few long lines, not enough machines” and do better next time)

All you need to do is target the voters that are going to vote for the guy that’s running against you.

Let’s see:

We were told over and over there were certain “battleground” states, “swing” states, that were crucial to the election.

Did you hear about Ohio before November 2nd, yeah you bet you did. Interesting that the entire election came down to OHIO, isn’t it.

(behind the scenes/Bush/Cheney 04)

Let’s see..mmm who are the Kerry voters there?

Oh yeah. The black folks.

Oh yeah. The people in the cities.

Oh yeah. The young ones going to university.

Let’s see…we have a Republican secretary of state on our side. Good. Let’s see if we can make sure those BLACK and URBAN precincts where they would naturally have more voters, anyway, since they have more people, get LESS access to voting.

Let’s see: Less access to voting mean less votes. VOILA Georgie boy!

Less votes for them.

We will give the machines to our precincts with fewer people. All “our” people will certainly get a chance to vote in a fair in timely manner.

I know, let’s tell them the wrong precinct to vote at -That’s a brilliant one. Then after a few hours waiting in that line, let’s send them to another line.

Let’s send out flyers threatening that parking tickets, child support must be paid and officers will be checking. (Oh wait we didn’t do that officially but we had our surrogates do that because err....oh and a few computer “glitches”)

WHAT? The whiners can’t stand in line six hours to vote? Too bad.

That’s not a crime.

Oh yeah: The crime is the willful intent to purposely target a group of citizens from voting.

That’s a crime.

1. Well said, Generator.
As time goes on, and I see more of what happened, I am getting more angry, not less.

2. Only correction: it was Rove, not Georgie who did it.
George is too stupid to figure out that kind of madness, but smart enough to appreciate it.
