Whatever happened to Diebold and ES&S?
Has anyone else noticed that due to a few recent events--

Bev Harris discrediting her own personality but not her work and research

and

All the attention on Ohio voter suppression and Triad

that somehow Diebold and ES&S have lost our attention, even though the fact remains that they counted 80% of the national vote?

Or am I wrong? have they not lost our attention?

as an experiment I searched the first two pages of current thread subjects and found diebold and es&s appeared ZERO times.

it that a little wierd?

1. We got distracted by...
...un-substantiated allegations of, well, nothing.

3. what are you talking about?
"...un-substantiated allegations of, well, nothing."

I completely disagree. There is a ton of substantiated factual evidence in Ohio and if you haven't seen it you haven't been looking.

My post was not to diminish the importance of what's going on in OHio. I was just wondering if Diebold and ES&S are "conveniently" slipping through the cracks.

2. Sequoia showed Bush on the review-screen, after people
touched Kerry on the touchscreen.

Let's not leave Sequioa out.

Sequoia is for sale, by the way.

A wealthy liberal should buy it. Then the Republican Congress will care about verified-voting.

4. good point
I wonder what percentage of the national vote was counted by all three companies. Must be getting close to 90%.

5. ES&S counted about 36 counties out of Ohio's 88.
I haven't forgotten them at all.

ES&S and Triad, combined, counted dang near all of Ohio.

For instance:

November 2004
iVotronic

Mahoning County. Many problems plagued the ES&S iVotronic touch screen voting machines in 16 of the 312 Mahoning County precincts. 1

Some of the machines malfunctioned, others had problems with the personal electronic ballot cartridge placed into the machines before each vote to count the ballots, and other problems were
caused by human error, Munroe said. ...

Also, there were 20 to 30 machines that needed to be recalibrated during the voting process because some votes for a candidate were being counted for that candidate's opponent, Munroe said. ...
About a dozen machines needed to be reset because they essentially froze.

6. WOW !
sound like you're on top of it.

Have you seen the any more complete data that this

"ES&S claims that they have tabulated "56% of the U.S. national vote for the past four presidential elections", while a Diebold spokesperson told this writer that the company processed about 35% of U.S. electronic vote count in 2002."

Which I got from here:

http://www.scoop.co.nz/mason/stories/HL0404/S00233.htm

I'd love to see a more complete ananlysis
