URGENT request for help regarding Jan. 6 challenge of election.
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 01:37 PM by Amaryllis
This just out from Cheryl at
http://www.stolenelection2004.com/alerts.html

This is a forward which encourages people to donate today to help the lawyers who are contesting the election in Ohio who need the funds to uncover new vote fraud evidence, etc. If you donate by today a wealthy donor will provide matchining funds. For more actions to help investigate vote fraud, contest election, and reform voting system CLICK HERE http://www.stolenelection2004.com/alerts.html
which has recently been updated and made more user friendly. Thanks, Cheryl

ALERT: Donations that could have huge impact on Jan 6th if made by Dec 30th.

If we can raise at least $9,000 in the next couple of days, the following can happen, which in turn, will vastly improve conditions for challenging the vote on January 6th and, whether ultimately successful or not, at least lay the groundwork (public awarenesswise, and legally) to clean up our elections
system by the 2006 election:

1) $10,000 to enable the legal team in Ohio to do urgent discovery actions that they feel will unearth even more shocking evidence that the election was stolen, which in turn will give major media the fodder they need to make this front page news in the days leading up to Jan 6th.

2) $4,000 to hire the best PR people at Fenton Communications to get top radio and TV talk shows hosts and leading print press political reporters to report on these discoveries, as well as the many others they have still ignored, not only in Ohio but also New Mexico (critical to the movement to make the case
for computer fraud)

3) $3,000 to hire organizers these remaining days in Ohio to create the necessary pressure to get Ohio reps to come on board and stand up on Jan 6th. Just yesterday we heard Rep Stephanie Tubbs Jones has agreed, But we need more, which in turn will make it much easier for Boxer and other Senators to join them.

This totals $18,000, twice the $9,000 we are hoping you will provide, which a wealthy matching donor is willing to match if and only the match is made in the next couple of days, in time to do all of the above.

There are at least 600 of us on our Wellstone email list and a couple other goodsize email lists you yourselves have. So if we each would donate just $15, we'd have it.
You can donate by credit card to this url (tax deductible)
http://www.fairelections.us/article.php?id=67 (paste it into your browser)

or at www.freepress.org. But since the paypal service can hold the money as much as 30 days, please also email to Gary@FairElections.us (who has volunteered to do this fundraising) how much you are donating, and to expedite the availability fo the funds, mail your donation in by check to FairElections, 975 Park Lane, Oakland. Ca. 94610. Again, so that we can know within 2 days if we reached the $9k goal, please email Gary@FairElections.us to let him know how much you sent in.

Thank you, Don

p.s. Those wanting to donate more to a longer term (spring) project, should contact Gary directly at 510 832 4033. This project is a book and film that will thoroughly document how Ohio was stolen and lay the groundwork for the Voters Bill of Rights Movement of 2005. At least $150k is needed for this.

Okay, how many of you here are personally familiar with the work of Fair Elections.us or Gary Crane?

I've been involved in the clean elections/anti-election fraud stuff for nearly two years and had never heard of either one.

Apparently they are in the SF Bay Area and just decided to go national.

I checked out the website and found a bunch of the internal pages you can push on go nowhere, except to external sites.

I asked some folks who have worked with Gary Crane, the Executive Director of Fair Elections.us what their opinion is of him.

Here is what they wrote back (these are people associated with community radio who had dealings with him). I do not myself know Gary Crane, and there may be hordes of people who think he walks on water, but the responses I got in my mini-background check were not encouraging.

"While his talk was all about idealism; his manner was all about Gary. ... My advice - proceed with caution." -- former volunteer who worked with him.

A number of people noted he has a sleazy, aggressive manner and is open about wanting to pick up women. One said it was rumored that while he pretended to be single, he had a long-time partner.

Those comments wouldn't be so damning in this context, but they are consistent with other comments. Remember, my question was completely neutral. Here are four people's responses:

"Gary Crane is very, very bad news to be around, to trust or to work with.
He lies, poses, pretends to be what he's not, and is brilliant enough to
persuade you to go along with him until you realize there's nothing there."

"He demanded help at every turn, calling at all hours and needing it now, now, now... I didn't like him. My partner hated him at first meeting. I had to set so many limits for my mental health that I ended up barely working with him at all. In person, he was enthusiastic and energetic but seemed dysfunctional. Not eating, sleeping, "ON" at all times. I didn't trust anything he said. He had a kind of salesman personality. While his talk was all about idealism; his manner was all about Gary. ... My advice - proceed with caution."

"Pushy. ... ...i always kind of felt like i was being hustled by him..."

Okay. So, if you want to send your email address to Gary and your money to him, hey, it's your money.

Myself, I would trust the people working in Ohio, like www.freepress.org

Or :

Send directly to the contest of election lawsuit:

You can make a tax-deductible donation to
'Ohio Election Litigation Fund'

and mail it to

Cliff Arnebeck, Esq.,
1351 King Avenue, 1st Floor,

along with your email address.

who sent the email and sent your message and asked her what's up with Gary.
i was thinking that since Free Press was involved, that was good enough but... guess you have to check out ALL the sources if there are any that are unfamiliar. I had also received the message from someone I know at Alliance for Democracy. Will post update as soon as I have any response.

14. I am pretty picky about my facts...and my $. If you want documentation
on the address I just posted for Cliff Arnebeck, you can find it posted at the organization he co-founded with Ronnie Dugger:

http://www.thealliancefordemocracy.org/html/eng/2146-AA.shtml

Ronnie Dugger founded the Texas Observer 50 years ago (talk about a veteran journalist!) and Ronnie was one of the first to do the outcry that voting machines could be a real problem -- he wrote about it in 1989!

If you haven't read Ronnie's article this summer, sit down and read it.

"How They Could Steal the Election This Time," by RONNIE DUGGER, The Nation, Cover Story -- August 16, 2004 issue

16. I got the original message from someone I know from AFD.
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 09:02 PM by Amaryllis
I actually got the message I posted to start the thread from someone I know who is the national chair fot the Save the Election campaign for AFD, who got it directly from Nancy Price who is co-chair of AFD with CLiff Arnebeck. That's why I thought I could trust it. I got the same message from Cheryl at stolenelection. I emailed both of them and sent your post and asked about Gary.

And I have read Ronnie Dugger's article; I have sent it all over the net. It was the final straw that got me really freaked out when I read it last summer because when I read it I knew they'd hack the election this time again, and that they would have the elections from here on out because they'd have congress and would be invested in keeping the elections hackable. i was really depressed and freaked out for a long time after I read the article and realized the long term implications. I sent the article to everyone I knew and tried to get them to write their congress people to sign on for S 1980 and HB 2249. But for the most part, they just didn't get it. But they do now.

Here is a link for what Ronnie wrote in 1989

17. UPDATE just got this from Cheryl at stolen election ....
It has come to my attention that some people who received the last email misunderstood the intent and thought that they should contribute to the legal effort for discovery of Ohio vote fraud by going to the http://www.stolenelection2004.com/alerts.html
website. I mentioned this website for OTHER ACTIONS to help investigate, publicize and contest the stolen election (including local and national demonstrations) in a preface to a forward that I sent from the people working on the funding of legal "discovery" of vote fraud for the lawyers currently contesting the Ohio election (although there is a link to contributing to this effort on the website above--it is on top--people might get confused and click on a contributions link which would go to DIFFERENT organization than the one directly involved with this effort.).

*******If anyone contributed to Votermarch when they thought they were contributing toward the legal effort to uncover vote fraud in Ohio, please let me know at action@votermarch.org and we will correct this .
See below for direct contribution info! Also see below for an update on the effort for the Congress to contest the election on the 6th!

Another correction is that it has become clear to me by communicating with the prinicpals involved in this effort since I sent out the last email, that the matching funds will kick in if you email Gary@FairElections.us today--Fri. Dec.31st-- and let him know how much you are contributing on the internet or by mail today. If you have any questions about contributing after today, or any other questions please call Gary directly at 415 8457012 Below is the direct info for donating to the legal effort for discovery of Ohio vote fraud (the mailing address is different than the one I gave the last time but they are both correct--it's just Gary is in California helping the Ohio effort and it is more direct to send to the lawyers working in Ohio).

Btw, in case you haven't heard yet, Representative John Conyers--the ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee-- has just declared that he will contest the counting of the Ohio electoral votes on the 6th. He is looking for a Senator to join him! Please go to the above alerts website to help with this and related actions.

Also, if you didn't read the original email please look below the direct info on how to contribute to the lawyers to find out exactly what the the money is going for.)

HERE IS THE DIRECT INFO OF HOW TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE LAWYERS
The legal team contesting the Ohio vote is asking for funds to do discovery to uncover more evidence of fraud

Any money they are sent and informed of (by sending info to Gary@FairElections.us ) by today (Dec 31st) by internet contribution or check will be matched by wealthy donor

CLICK HERE to make tax deductable contributions: click on second item
http://freepress.org/store.php#donate

You can also make a tax-deductible
donation by making out a check to

'Ohio Election Litigation Fund' and mail it to Cliff
Arnebeck, Esq.,1351 King Avenue, 1st Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43212,
along with your email address.

PLEASE ALSO EMAIL Gary@FairElections.us if you mail a check and tell him how much it is for.

You can also call Gary for more info 415 8457012

Happy Holidays and hope you have a great New Year! You can help uncover vote fraud in Ohio by donating today and/or taking actions such as sending easy letters to your representatives (see below) if you need more info. about vote fraud in 2004 election this is an excellent site http://www.solarbus.org/stealyourelection/

This is a forward which encourages people to donate today to help the lawyers who are contesting the election in Ohio who need the funds to uncover new vote fraud evidence, etc. If you donate by today a wealthy donor will provide matchining funds. For more actions to help get vote fraud investigations with teeth (the power to impound the black box voting machines which are key), get representatives to contest election (even if it doesn't unseat Bush it would lead to debate, investigations and reforms), contact media (to cover the issue and let Conyers see raw exit poll numbers he requested), and reform voting system as well as find out about upcoming Vote Fraud Demos with Jesse Jackson on the 3rd and 6th and others CLICK HERE http://www.stolenelection2004.com/alerts.html which has recently been updated and made more user friendly.

In case you have trouble figuring out the donation link go here and click on second item
http://freepress.org/store.php#donate

see below to send a check

Also they want you to email Gary@FairElections.us and tell them how much you donating so they can get the matching funds
