ago. Writing to/calling Max Baucus is like talking to a wall lately. At least McCain's staff gets back to you pronto and on topic. When I communicate to Max, the response is so late that I have trouble recalling what I wrote, especially when his response is so vague.

It seems McCain has a decent staff. I just worry that the junta has something on him they keep him in line with.

10. No kidding about Max

I wrote him not long ago asking he support bills favoring renewable energy sources. His reply was we have all the coal we need but have to remove existing regulations to make it cost competitive.
Wish Max would get busted for drunk driving or something similar to get him out of office, can't bring myself to vote Rep just to give him the boot.

7. My letter to Chafee I faxed last night:

Dear Senator Chafee:

I hear that you are considering standing up with Rep. Conyers to contest the certification of Ohio's electoral votes.

I am a lifelong Democrat, but I'll tell you, Senator Chafee, it would just about restore my faith in the human race if you showed that kind of courage and integrity.

It's one thing for a Democrat to stand up against suspected Republican wrong-doing, but when a Republican seeks to uphold what's right regardless of party affiliation, like Secretary of State Sam Reed in Washington, it shows great strength of character.

I demand the same from my Democratic leaders, regardless of where the injustice is found, but they haven't exactly shown much willingness to do what's right in this case. My support will go to anyone who has the courage to be honest in this climate of fear and rampant distortion of the truth.
