4. The two European reporters who have posted here,
Danish Reporter and Paddy Manoofsky (sp?) from Denmark and Ireland, have said that it is pretty quiet there on this for a few reasons--

From Denmark, a lot of Danes were lost in the tsunami, so all news is about that. But Bo said he will be covering what happens tomorrow.

From Ireland, Coilin said, "the news desks have been in hangover season." He says the media there is pretty much like it is here.

Dem lays out case against Bush's Ohio win

By Malia Rulon, Associated Press Writer | January 5, 2005

WASHINGTON -- The senior Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee protested President Bush's re-election Wednesday with a new report claiming serious election irregularities and "significant disenfranchisement" of voters in Ohio.

The report by Rep. John Conyers of Michigan says Congress should challenge the Electoral College vote when it is tallied Thursday in the House of Representatives and investigate all claims of voter problems in Ohio.

"We have found numerous, serious election irregularities in the Ohio presidential election," the report said. "There are ample grounds for challenging the electors from the state of Ohio."

Ohio's 20 electoral votes were critical for Bush's defeat of Democratic Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. A recount showed Bush winning Ohio by 118,599 votes, the Ohio Secretary of State's Office announced Wednesday.

edited for completeness

12. thanks! though it's amazing to me that LaPo re calls *this* investigation
a waste of taxpayers' dollars.... I'm sure if the tables were turned, they'd not want to investigate, either, in order to save taxpayers' dollars.

10. I sent the story to the BBC 1 hour ago ...
at the Today programme, Radio 4. Never tried this before so I've no idea how long it takes for emails to filter through, or whether they'll pick it up. It's another 4.5 hours before the Today programme will be on air here ...
