we need to co-opt the phrase "Boxer Rebellion"
looks like the repukes plan to use it as a euphemism for "conspiracy theorists". We need to take that phrase away from them. i'll make t-shirts if anyone wants one. "I'M A PART OF THE BOXER REBELLION" or somesuch.

1. Great idea! But I'm hoping some more
people will be stepping up. Oh, yeah! A true rebellion!

3. Now there's a phrase that could explode in their faces.

"Rebellion" sounds brave. It contains "rebel" which has southern appeal, too. "Conspiracy theorists" sounds nuts. They might want to think before trading one phrase for the other.

Definitely co-opt.

4. YES! No matter who else steps up
to the plate now, she was the FIRST and the rebellion SHOULD carry her name. I love it:

THE BOXER REBELLION!

8. Great idea! How about "Join the Boxer Rebellion!"
or "Boxer Rebellion-Part Deux"; or "Stand UP for the Box Rebellion"; "Vive le Boxer"; or "Vive le Boxer Rebellion."

(And by the way, I love the sound of it "Boxer Rebellion!" The Repugs in Congress who referred to it this morning said it with such contempt. Yet every time they did, it filled me with such pride!

Vive le Boxer!

9. Ummmm ....

Do you really want what's going on here associated with a failed uprising that led to the crushing of everything those in rebellion held dear?

Sorry to be a poopy-head, but that's the first thing that popped into my head.

11. Not so poopy
But then, few people seem to have much education in non-local, non-recent history these days.

To me it sounds like a jingoistic, mass-media sound bite sort of lema, but then, I guess that's still the idea...

21. EXACTLY.
Their response will be "first one failed, so will this one."

Of course, as symbolic of standing up against a ruthless oppressive imperialist regime holding us hostage, I agree it works.

16. Nope, and I'll tell you why.
Let them have it. It is their attempt to narrow the focus and turn it into a pissing match among a few isolated disgruntled politicians. This issue is much much larger than that.

Using Boxer's name marginalizes the people who did the true leg work between November 3 and today. Let's come up with a name that encompasses all voters regardless of political party. After all, the goal is to have EVERY vote counted, correct?

You want a movement name that is easily recognized by Joe America as descriptive of the cause.

19. SO not fair to Conyers, Jackson, Green Party, PDA and others
who started all this before she agreed to join.

20. fair?
There was nothing fair about the election. Power rules in politics. Yes, Conyers, Jackson and other deserve a ton of credit, but so does Will Pitt, but (apologies, Will) nobody is going to recognize the phrase "Pitt Rebellion"! And, as I keep saying, the Repukes are using this particular phrase "Boxer Rebellion", attempting to infuse it with an air of nuttiness, and the point is to co-opt that phrase, take it away from them, and give it positive power.
