Did Congress focus on the wrong issues?
Conyers amassed a great amount of information on how the Ohio election was fraudulent. The most obvious and fool-proof evidence is the suppression and the lines. However, the Repigs have countered (rather effectively, i have seen) that this kind of election problem is not to be brought up at a perfunctory opening of results 2 months old. The correct forum and time is when Congress is in session, where these fears can be adequately ignored. We need public recognition and support, and this kind of stunt may get us somewhere, but it didn't fully show Dems standing up and saying we KNOW YOU CHEATED.

What we really needed, I believe, is for people to focus on actual errors in the computer tallies. We needed to speak out that we ARE contesting who won. Maybe then we would have seen some sort of waves. However, we saw congressman after congressman getting up and delivering the party lines. I think we really should have taken off the kiddie gloves and decided to start a propaganda war. Every time a Dem stood and said a vote wasn't counted, a Pig stood up and said * won by 3 million votes, undeniably.

However, I do understand that if we had done this, we merely would have gotten into a shouting match that politics inevitably devolve into when 2 sides refuse to meet anywhere. When I say propaganda war, I mean it. The right will shout about how sorry liberals are, and the left will shout how unethical the fat cat pigs are. The muck our democracy is in needs something extreme, some sort of arbitration that can end these shouting matches. For every truth, there abound 5 lies, and given the media's current slant, the lies will become the perceived truth, and allow the continued hijacking of this country by the wealthy neo-cons.
