Bush has another stain on his record.
The last objection to state electors was in 1877. It's going in the history books!

1. Yeah, but what is so gross about his stain is his is the . . .
blood of the over 1000 Americans who have lost their lives as well as who knows 100,000+ of the Iraqi people who these terrorists kill just as easy as they can kill our soldiers.

I dread January 30th more than January 20th. I feel it is going to be a bloodbath over there.

4. I predict that they will then blame
The Dems contesting Ohio for the Iraq fallout...since Bush and co. never accept responsibility for ANYTHING. It'll be all our fault.

Mark my words

18. They did it all day today
In subtle and not so subtle ways.

Laying the groundwork by getting insinuations and suggestions "on the record".

2. Excellent point...
The son-of-a-bitch has no mandate and his quote presidency quote will go down in history as the biggest joke in American History.

Some day we the people will get our country back. This is our new and continuing directive.

9. Well, not everybody...
and that is why we need to be out informing people that what happened today wasn't a bunch of lunacy. If we can get people to actually read the Conyers report and not just take what the idiots on tv say as the gospel then today will not have happened in vain.

12. Bush has always been an illegitimate president ...
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 10:16 PM by Casablanca
But his illegitimacy only mattered when it was a threat to his re-election.

Now he can't be re-elected (one threat gone), and has retained the Repub majority in Congress (other threat gone). And the American electorate is out of the game for another two years.

This isn't a reason to stop fighting his agenda - in fact, it's more than enough of a reason to step up the fight - but let's be realistic please.

If the Dems turn into an actual opposition party, it still won't affect Bush too much (especially if the Congressional Repubs use the nuclear option against filibusters), but it will strengthen voter commitment to the Democratic Party.
