Photos from DC - Lafayette Park 1/6

What an exciting day! About 500 people showed up for the rally and march to the Capitol and when we got there we were greeted by about 250 more. No matter what happened inside the Capitol today, what happened in the cold and drizzle outside was a clear victory. The momentum is strong.

These photos were all taken at the Lafayette Park rally because I was so excited I used up my memory card before the march began. Unfortunately, a lot of them turned out blurry...guess my hands were shaking.

I posted the best ones to my Flickr.com photostream. (If you're not familiar with Flickr, I highly recommend it for sharing pics online...great features for free.) I've also created a DU group there so that everyone can have one place to share stuff.

20. I was there...

...standing a little to the left of y'all at the lawn by the Capitol. I had the big rectangular posterboard with "SELMA TO OHIO: JIM CROW LIVES" on the front and in hard-to-see letters "IF YOU'RE NOT OUTRAGED, THEN YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION" on the back side.

Y'all may or may not have seen me, but I was screaming, "Yes!" a whole lot.

i wasn't sure at first..but yeah that's my flowered purse. my head is sort of merges with someone else's, it's not quite that big in real life.
