VOTE - join up today!
Again, if you'd like to volunteer to help VOTE, that would be most appreciated.

If you have already volunteered, thank you.

We need the following to start with:

*Data miners
*Researchers
*Writers
*Proof readers
*People with contacts to other Progressive groups

Later we will need people who can call, write, fax and email. For now we need information for our databases.

If you'd like to volunteer, please email me and tell me what your skills are. No skill is too small to list so list them all.

Volunteer by PMing me or emailing me at arnheim@domainofarnheim.com

Thanks for all of your kind words, enthusiasm and a willingness to work to get rid of * by reforming our sorry election process.

Arnheim

6. Arnheim
I will try to help with researching and data mining.
what areas are we researching?
definately can help with sending out mass emails.
I don't have any useful secretary skills or anything like that as you have probably noticed from my typing.I take that back I am good in math and should be able to help with data entry and calculations and junk. I will email you.

9. We need the following
*Lists of Progressive groups: email, phone, fax, contact person
*Lists of Elected Officials: same thing starting with Senators and Representatives
*Lists of Media - not just the names of reporters. We need addresses of radio stations, tv stations, newspaper offices, etc.

We are going to have a large database of contacts for these three areas so we can mobilize within a short amount of time.

I am working on getting contacts for our group and would welcome any help getting the other stuff together.

7. Sorry

to be a pain in the ass: But the name is not good. "Vote" is so inexpressive.

"Vote care" was better.

23. Yes

but in these (creative) things democracy is not good.

For example you can't make a magazine by letting all editors voting...

It just don't function.

Democracy is good for politics, but don't work for business things...

;-)

And I also like vote care better. "VOTE" doesn't say anything about what it's about.

16. Citizens Against Rigged Elections
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 04:45 PM by Faye
actually, i put two ideas together - someone said VOTE (Voters for Open and Transparent Elections) - - - and someone else said CARE (Citizens Against Rigged Elections) - - - so i put them together to make VOTE CARE - having part of the people involved working on promoting election reform ideas, etc - and the other part more focused on investigating election fraud. the two work together to come up with solutions, etc.

some people's problem was the word 'rigged' being involved in the name. they thought that it would turn people off. i don't really think it would, personally - but maybe we can think of another word that begins with 'R' that fits?

edit: LOL - how bout 'Rovian Elections' lol just kdding

like

24. A parallel idea: national conference on election reform
Since this thread is about uniting under a common banner, I wanted to encourage readers to visit another thread where I'm soliciting comments on the value of a national conference on election reform. Please visit and weigh in -- it would be great (if we did the conference) to have VOTE be a visible co-sponsor. Here's the thread:
