A letter from the Republican National Committee
For some unknown and mysterious reason, my roommate got sent a letter from the RNC. But I'm glad, because now I get to post it on the DU.

It reads,
"Dear Friend,

Please accept, with my congratulations, your 2005 Republican National Committee Sustaining Member Card. President Bush is counting on you to accept your card and to help him as he works to complete his agenda for a safer, stronger, more secure America.

Now is the time for locking in the Bush tax cuts and making them permanent.

Once and for all it is time to wipe out the "death tax" that punishes the loved ones of those who've spent lifetimes building small businesses, ranches, and farms.

We will win the War on Terror by continuing to aggressively hunt down those few who wish to harm so many. In pursuing our terrorist enemies, it is a great accomplishment that our forces have brought freedom to 50 million people and given them the opportunity to replace despots through free elections. And;

We must put judges in our courts who respect the timeless wisdom of the Founders and the Constitution as it was written.

Remember...

Hillary Clinton and the Democrats can't believe that we won in November because 60 MILLION voters like you placed your faith in the power of individuals (not Washington's bureaucrats) to create hope, prosperity, and freedom.

The liberals are absolutely reeling from their historic defeat, and it appears Harry Reid - Tom Daschle's replacement as the Democrats' Senate Leader - will borrow a page from Daschle's playbook and work to reverse our momentum by using "gridlock" as an obstructionist weapon to halt each of these reforms and more.

Based on your unfaltering support for President Bush, I am counting on YOU to be among the leading Republicans helping to counter the Democrats' efforts and kick-off this push to pass our agenda by sending back $25, $50, $75, $100, or even $200 before you set this letter aside.

Make no mistake, the party of Hillary Clinton and John Kerry is not about to concede they lost in 2000, 2002, and 2004 because America's voters are rejecting their ideas.

(snip)

If Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, and John Kerry lead the Democrats in getting out of the gate more quickly than we do, they will organize and develop new smokescreens for hiding their Big Government Agenda -- and they will gain an invaluable lead towards taking back power in 2006.

Why are the Democrats working so hard to move their party to the left of mainstream America? Because they REFUSE TO ACCEPT that they are out of step with the core values that make America great.

(snip)

The intensity of the fear mongering and delaying tactics of the Democrats and their media allies proves just how close we are to permanently reversing the widespread harm caused by eight years of Clinton/Gore."

Thoughts? This is so completely laughable I am beside myself. The "widespread harm" line is my favorite.

Their definition of "freedom" is different from mine.

3. Maybe in a parallel universe
...the garbage the Republican Party spews makes sense. But in THIS universe they're just plain dangerous kooks who enjoy twisting reality around to suit themselves.

What I wouldn't give for the chance to stick them all on a faulty transporter pad and scatter their molecules across several parsecs in deep space.

BIG GOVERNMENT AGENDA...Imagine that.
I think they are confused, they are the ones with big smokescreens and the biggest government ever.

6. fear mongering Democrats? LOL
They won't win because they don't even know who they're fighting against, and they don't know who the leaders are.

We, the people, are leading the revolt this time, and some elected Dems are starting to listen.

7. these letters write themselves
Copywriters for the RNC just pull out their "hot button" checklist and the letter writes itself!:

MUST HAVE PHRASES for any RNC fundraiser letter:

terror/terrorist
Hillary Clinton
strong
safe
secure
tax cuts

In a single paragraph, they manage to both declare their foot on the throat of the Democrats yet make the Democrats still a threat!! All in a single paragraph:

The liberals are absolutely reeling from their historic defeat, and it appears Harry Reid - Tom Daschle's replacement as the Democrats' Senate Leader - will borrow a page from Daschle's playbook and work to reverse our momentum by using "gridlock" as an obstructionist weapon to halt each of these reforms and more.

The "logic" is breathtaking.

8. you're right. I think Blackwell uses the same program for his
fundraising letters.

Same tone, verbage and lies.

When we write letters we labor to convey truth, and in an eloquent fashion. At least that's my observation. :)

10. Notice how they didn't mention Conyers, Boxer or Tubbs Jones
who are the real leaders that have emerged and energized us in this battle.

Guess what though, "delaying tactics" - this the way they frame the debate - so the ignorant followers of this crap have stuff to repeat.
This letter should be written to themselves - they are the ones who are a minority of a minority and REFUSE TO ACCEPT the fact that the only way they can win is to CHEAT, LIE and STEAL.

11. Oh, this is choice....
Straight out of the neocon playbook, straight to the koolaid drinkers...

"The intensity of the fear mongering and delaying tactics of the Democrats and their media allies proves just how close we are to permanently reversing the widespread harm caused by eight years of Clinton/Gore."

Fear mongering - So the Dems are now the fear mongerers? Give me a break.

Delaying tactics - It's called checks and balances...it's called healthy debate...it's called democracy in a two party system you idiots!

Democrats and their media allies - help me out here...we have media allies? That's news to me...please point me in the direction of our "media allies" please.

13. the core values that make America great.
Hmmmm. I wonder which core values they are reffering to. Killing thousands of innocent civilians in order to secure future oil reserves. Yes, thats definately a core value. Illegally interning and torturing people for commiting no known crime. Another core value. Paving the way for the rich to get richer and the poor to get, uhmmm, to get.....lost. Destroying the planet we all share and depend on in the name of monetary progress. Corrupting our government with lies and treasonous activities. Obliterating constitutional rights. Bastardizing our voting process.

Damn, so many core values to choose from I dont know where to start.
