GOP: Felons, Dead People Voted in Wash.
1/26/05
By REBECCA COOK
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Republicans asking a judge to throw out the results of Washington's ultra-close gubernatorial election said Wednesday they have found that 300 ballots were cast illegally by felons and others.

The ballots included people who voted twice, or in the names of people who died before absentee ballots were mailed back, state GOP leaders said.

Those votes, combined with 437 provisional ballots that were illegally fed directly into voting machines, should call Democratic Gov. Christine Gregoire's 129-vote victory over Republican Dino Rossi into question, the GOP said.

``Clearly we have more illegal votes than the margin of victory,'' state Republican Party Chairman Chris Vance said. ``The law is on our side.''

Rossi had narrow leads after the first count and a machine recount, but Gregoire won in a hand recount of the 2.9 million ballots cast Nov. 2. Republicans have filed a legal challenge in Chelan County Superior Court; Judge John E. Bridges has scheduled the next hearing for Feb. 4.

Republicans contend that mistakes such as the counting of 737 illegal ballots spoiled the election to the point that the real winner can never be known. They are pushing for a new election.

3. How do they know which ballot was cast by a felon?
How can they know whether a felon even voted or how they voted? They need to get over it. We should move on for the sake of unity.:-)

5. Their typical Mary Poppins story line...
Which gets all the attention to cloud the *real* voting
issues.

If you really want to steal an election... It takes a computer.

Stuffing the ballot box isn't the way to do it... Those darn
ballots are heavy and you could get caught.

We know how these guys dislike, "Hard Work."

Instead throw away the ballots, say you counted them,
yell out two numbers with your guy having the most.

9. How about a revote as long as both sides agree to a 100% manual
recount to compare the results to the machine totals.

10. There's no proof that Dino Rossi won
But Democratic Party spokeswoman Kirstin Brost said, "There's no proof that Dino Rossi won the election, and that's what you need to show."
