How to vote by paper ballot.

Okay this may be farfetched but why not organize democrats and progressive voters precinct by precinct to vote by provisional ballot or absentee ballot. This should be easier to do in the coming elections since fewer voters actually vote in off year elections and most places have early voting. If everyone is willing to vote this way you can actually mass photocopy ballots and submit the originals by some form of certified delivery. You now have proof of:

Who voted…
How the vote was submitted
The intent of the voter
Multiple whitnesses of the intent and for the ballot
The exact number of registered voters who voted
Verification that the ballot is valid
No under or over votes
A valid recountable ballot trail

Also you’ll need monitors at each precinct to ensure the number of voters who appear in person is counted accurately. Any absentee votes or military votes should be easy to recount if necessary. I would assume only the in-person voters could be inflated since they are least likely to have a ballot trail.

Some precincts are huge but so are the rewards you start by going after troublesome counties in Florida and Ohio and getting their local crooks unseated as well as the secretary of state. If we have enough donors and volunteers nationally we can treat their local elections as national elections.

If Iraqis can have paper ballots for every vote so should we. Remember the Neo-zombies were going to do it in Florida and even put out memos on it.

1. If you could organize every voter to do this,

you'd be better off organizing every voter to rise up and demand paper ballots for EVERYONE. Legal.

We are taught in this culture that we can fix most every problem by being a consumer -- even left-moderate thought tells us this -- "If you don't like Wal-Mart, McDonalds, or Coke, don't buy it - don't shop there."

We cannot fix the election problems by each individual that we manage to contact voting a certain way.

Won't work. Because the results of the election are determined by ALL the votes (or all the hacks!), not just the ones you influenced.

The entire paradigm of voting and counting must be changed, not each individual who is convinced do it a certain way.

The DREs, the secret coded OptiScans, the centralized control, all must be thrown out the window for 2006, and nothing but hand counted paper ballots used. We can do this. It's simple, it's traditional, it's proven.

2. Here's a better idea....become a poll worker. Monitors have no power

and are looked upon as being know nothing, meddlesome pests by those of us that have actually gone through the training and poll work for decades.

Monitors, observers and witnesses are allowed in the polling place at the discretion on the poll workers. They can easily be removed.
