1. Those guys from Tennesee just can't hold their cheese
We see this sort of thing happen to tourists up here in Wisconsin from time to time.

Stay away from the 'aged sharp' chedder unless you are sure you can handle it, or unless you have a designated driver!

2. Welcome, WYVBC --
Wow! You're new and this is the very, very earliest our KOEB thread has ever been started! (If this is intended to be Tuesday's KOEB thread.) It will need to be kicked this evening to make sure everyone sees it.

:hi:

Also, the first post always needs one of these:

and some of these:

4. There's been some talk about only "regulars" starting the official thread.
And no sooner than 5 minutes before "Countdown" starts. Otherwise people come in to post during the show, and they find themselves already knee-deep in snark.

Just what I read in last night's thread.

NGU.

6. Would a "regular" be a sustaining member?
Instead of a star, they could have one of these after their name :loveya:

I never start em, but I will wade through the snark with the best of em.

Hi CW, how's real life goin? :hi:

8. No, just a regular regular. :-)
As it is, we're in this forum on sufferance (DU refraining to enforce a prohibition). No sense pushing the moderators' patience with a flurry of KOEB threads.

From where this poster stands, the KOEB meeting, starting right at showtime -- plus ONE weekend blog -- are sufficient here.

11. It seems that once we have the group set up,
even the weekend blog could go away from here and move to the group.

15. True, but the regular forum discussion is designed to attract new members.
THEN we tell 'em about the group, if they care to go deeper.

Mmmmmmmmm, did I say deeper?
Oooooooooooooooohhh, Keeeeeeeith!!! :loveya: :loveya::loveya: :loveya::loveya: :loveya::loveya: :loveya::loveya: :loveya:

12. Hey you...
RL's going well today. My 2 p.m. appointment cancelled, so I have a bit of play time. How's you?

13. Well rested
I have not worked since last Wed. We really do not know how to deal with snow in these parts. :eyes:

17. Don't I know it!
I lived in DC for awhile, and it was truly fun watching the natives deal with an accumulation of the alien freezy white crystals.

We were at full winter weather warning CODE RED.

I was going to shovel my car out this morning, and it was already melted.

9. I didn't notice that discussion when I got caught up
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 02:28 PM by SharonRB
today on what I missed after I got off last night, but this makes sense to me. Certainly the part about no sooner than five minutes before the start of the show. I know I had trouble logging onto the Internets last night, was about 5 minutes late and already had a bunch to wade through. I'm not sure I see a problem with a "newbie" starting the thread, as long as they follow the rules! I hate to sound unwelcoming.

On edit: Saw it now. It was just posted a little while ago.

14. It just started.

By TRADITION, the meeting begins right before the show -- else what are we blogging?

A newbie -- fine with me.
Someone who has yet to introduce herself/himself to the group?-- not putting the best foot forward, IMO.

But I'm an old UNION gal. SENIORITY and all that, you know?

19. That makes sense
Someone who's made an intro is okay to start the thread, even if they're not a "regular" yet, but someone who's never been there before isn't. Is that right?

20. Hope so. It seems only right...
... to give the long-timers (our unofficial "officers") some respect. I've been a member since KO's birthday party, and I wouldn't have taken it upon myself to start the meeting until I had at least a couple more months under my belt.

And 7 hours ahead of schedule? Boy, have we grown into an impatient bunch.:D

7. Good news and bad news
I could not get my DVD/VCR to work. It is connected between the cable box and the TV. I tried every combination I could think of.

The good news is I have an extra VCR and TV. Following your husband's advice, it is now in fully operational. I ran a test last night, and it recorded perfectly.

Thanks to both of you. :)

Sorry the advice didn't help -- but the REALLY IMPORTANT THING is that you're now able to record KO for posterity! :loveya:
