Also, New Hampshire's primary allows independents to register at the polling place. I think that these people lean Republican, but more than that they like to vote. That's what drew them to the 2004 Democratic primary. Compare the results of the 2000 primary. There were only 18 votes cast in the Democratic primary that year. No disrespect to General Clark, but I take this year's results as a positive sign for Kerry.
