Rep. McKinney added as keynote speaker for the "Nash-ional" conference
Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-Georgia) has been added as the closing keynote speaker for the National Election Reform Conference. She joins a stellar lineup of speakers and discussion group leaders, conference attendees from 26 states and over 60 supporting organizations. The conference will be filmed by six documentarians and will be web-cast (audio) shortly after the conference ends. If we can find someone to do it, we will also run a thread reporting on the conference in real-time on DU.

Y'all come. It's not too late to join us this Friday through Sunday as we work together to take our country back. After all, we are the ones we have been waiting for. For more information, go to www.freepress.org/conf.php

1. Yes, yes, yes! McKinney is a wonderful choice!
Any speakers on the list yet from US Count Votes (Kathy Dopp, Steven Freeman or any of that long list of Ph.D.s?).

I do hope someone comes forward to do the live DU blog from the conference! I am one of many who simply can't go, but would love to be there, and would love to participate long distance via blog.

2. Thanks. We feel very blessed to have her.
And we have Kathy Dopp, Josh Mitteldorf, Jonathan Simon, Bernie Windham, R.H. Phillips all coming from the election theft research world.

We also have decided to add music to the program (we are Music City after all), and hope to have some singers as nameworthy as Rep. McKinney. We have some possibilities (any Mavericks fans out there?)

Sorry you can't make it. We do hope someone will offer to blog the entire conference for you and the many other supporters around the country who can't be with us. Maybe we can all meet up at Independence Hall on the Fourth of July for the first world-wide Save Our Democracy conference. Interested?

8. Yeah right! The "play it safe" strategy really has helped the Dems
We need more people like Cynthia that have the guts to stand up for what is right. That woman is truely fearless and a good example for a lot of others who seem to be in bad need of a spinal transplant.

She IS a "great choice".

9. PHYLLIS HUSTER
of Count Paper Ballots..

will also be speaking.... but she's been removed from speaking Friday night by Bernie..... but I'll speak all day / night and morning long to anyone who wants to hear about my work and the work of my very dedicated activist members......

So that you can all see what Bernie did, he notified the mailing list I would speak and then replaced me with Roxanne Jekot after I notifed folks to attend the conference simply to hear me speak.......

I'm glad Roxanne is speaking, she deserves to speak. I think Bernie can spare 5 minutes for 2 folks to speak from Georgia...

But I have spent 4 months of my life and $10K of my money buying 28 counties to do some serious damage to the Election fraud in Georgia.

Richard Searcy, a Cynthia McKinney aid in Georgia, has my organization's countpaperballots powerpoint around and considers it a good guide.

Richard likes me, I guess Hugh Esco in McKinney's office must not.....

While Roxanne may have a lot to say about the Vote Count Protection Act, her group did not succeed in getting it sponsored by a single House or Senate representative (even the Karla Drenner representative effort was the result of my putting Andre in touch with Ginny one night at Manuel's) and did not get it introduced into the legislative session.

Good hard work, but in the end, a lot of wasted activist energy for no real benefit or no real end, and a divided VCC afterwards....

NO, I have 28 counties. and a real shot at proving election fraud in Georgia and I don't need Bernie's speaker spot to keep going... but people like him damage my efforts more than help it by putting this conference together so half assed..... really, the whole thing is last minute....

I have hard drives full of election fraud and I have a very clear plan for how to litigate and a very sound effort at getting nationwide support for my plan.

Just so you all know... this is what bernie sent by email as a way of just blowing me off his schedule after publicizing I would speak...

*** EMAIL FROM BERNIE ****

Phyllis,

I am still awaiting word that Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney can join us at the Nashville conference as a keynote speaker. We certainly hope that her attendance is possible -- we hope to hear from her staff today (Wednesday).

Congresswoman McKinney's staff put me in touch with a number of
long-standing voters' rights groups in Georgia and we are pleased that many of their members will be coming. The Congresswoman's staff also recommended that we have Roxanne Jekot (with the Georgia Voter Choice Coalition) give Georgia's summary presentation on Friday evening, since she has been working on this issue for some time and is in a position to represent a dozen voting rights groups in Georgia. So I am making that change to the program. Mrs. Jekot will now give Georgia's five minute presentation on Friday evening. However, I hope that you can still attend the conference and participate in the discussion groups on Friday and Sunday. For that reason, I am keeping your name on the list of conference speakers and discussion group leaders.

I look forward to meeting a lot of Georgians (including, hopefully,
Congresswoman McKinney) soon. Bernie Ellis

if anyone out there thinks
** OPEN RECORDS litigation by the ACLU,
** the purchase of 28 counties worth of records and personal effort to organize sunday audits at my house resulting in a citizen audit showing over 20 areas of Machine/Human failure during the 2004 Georgia election
** Getting a copy of the Diebold contract
** a copy of the police report for stolen Diebold equipment
** letters from SOS and KSU saying they had no records of stolen equipment
** receipts of letters sent to Diebold with no response

send bernie an email letting him know he was unprofessional to list me and then substitute me....

his email is
travevu@bellsouth.net

Otherwise, I'm getting damn tired of having to fight the activists who should be helping me....

11. Anyone who speaks for "anyone who knows Roxanne,"
Edited on Fri Apr-08-05 07:43 AM by Cookie wookie
is speaking from a limited frame of reference that does not represent "anyone who knows Roxanne."

Many know Roxanne as a tireless, brave patriot who has worked unceasingly and dedicated her life to the issue of investigating electronic voting since the 2000 elections. Her contributions belong among the founders of the movement to restore transparent, auditible, secure elections to the US. Her solid research, which she has shared widely with other workers in the field, and broad grasp of the issue from knowing fundamentals about how the Diebold system works, how certification processes are implemented, knowing the players in the system, etc., has been critical for bringing vital knowledge about the issue to its current level of public awareness, not just for Georgia but for the country as well.

Though she does not seek publicity for herself personally, like some people in the movement, and only appears publicly when doing so as a loyal friend or when no one else can do the job, it would be difficult to overstate her contributions and the impact they have had on this issue.

Even Rigel99 used Roxanne's research efforts and work from which to build her very vocal "movement."

Misinformation alert: "VoteWatch/election science...getting corporations out ...."

The Election Science Institute, formerly VoteWatch, is NOT a corporation. http://www.votewatch.us/

"Election Science Institutte (formerly Votewatch) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan and non-advocacy organization founded to promote transparency in American elections and ensure that every vote cast is counted fairly and accurately."

13. Correction to my above post
Edited on Fri Apr-08-05 09:57 PM by Cookie wookie
That should have been 2002, not 2000. My error. Still, a vast body of work contributed to this all important issue.

Sorry I am having to miss the conference. Wish I was there but at the last minute couldn't go. Thanks to Bernie and all the others who organized this and to those who will be sharing information to help us take our voting right back for "we the people."

12. Some people can't help showing their ass if you let them.
I don't have time for Phyllis this morning any more than I have had time for her rants over the past month. She has tried three times to change our conference, has called me at home to say she'll call me again (without doing do) and has generally demonstrated the concerns that several Georgians alerted me to (but not the people she accuses in her post above).

Despite her behavior, I had kept her on our list of speakers (where she appears now) because I thought she might have something useful to say in the discussion groups. Now I can only hope that she keeps her petulant ass in Georgia for the next few days. Fortunately, we will have police security at the conference to remove disrupters which Phyllis seems to personify to a tee.

Good riddance, Phyllis. And by the way, no one has emailed me as you requested. Says something about whether people are listening to you at all, doesn't it? Now to get back to more important things (like hosting the conference) than wasting more time with another self-promoting poseur who illustrates well why getting election reform and election justice accomplished is truly "hard work".

I look forward to seeing the rest of you in Nashville. Phyllis, not.
