Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 01:27 AM by adolfo
Just noticed wierd results for Early Voting. Has this been reported before?

I've heard about tight competition but this is rediculous.

EARLY VOTING TOTAL

Bush= 6698
Kerry= 6699

1. Oh wow....What did they do here..
Do you have a PDF file/XL spreadsheet or other for this county?

I'd really like to read it.

4. Just out of curiosity...
Are there really people who vote only for president? Because I noticed the totals for President in all columns are higher than for senator, and on down the line...seems the further down you go, the smaller the vote total for each column. In the early voting, 336 people apparently voted ONLY for President

6. Unauditable
Unfortunately we can't audit the results since Charlotte is an e-vote county.

Is there anyone in Charlotte working towards paper ballots?

7. For detailed vote data on Charlotte County for 2000 & 2004 see:

http://www.flcv.com/fla04EA.html

Charlotte registrations are 45% Repub, 32% Dem, 23% other

But between 2000 and 2004 Dems got almost as many new Dems(3470) as the Repubs did(3940). The "others" did the best going from 18 to 23% of registrations.

But for their new Repubs, the Repubs got twice as many new votes as the Dems, even though the % registered Repub declined by 4%. New votes were 8976 for Rep and 4582 for Dem.

Apparently the Dems were more enthused during early voting and got lots more than their registered percentage during early voting, but the Repubs more than caught up on election day and with absentees. Absentees are where the Repubs usually win elections in Florida.
Did you check on the absentees? those have a paper trail and are usually where you find the biggest difference before the day of the touch screens.

10. Tips for formatting tables
When you post, check the box labelled :
< > "Check here if you want to format your message in plain text."

This check box is 2 lines above the subject line of your new message.

Also, do not use tabs in your text, use only spaces.

ps. You must use the plain text check box even if you edit your post or poof!... the formatting is lost.
