1. For those that are privately-held corps...
... you will likely not find out. They don't have to open their books.

For small, over-the-counter purchases, you'll not likely find out, either.

However, if this individual or his company have had any significant purchases of stock in the other companies in a block, and those companies are publicly-held, the transfers have to be recorded with the SEC. You can find information on that through:

http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml

EDGAR is the SEC's on-line search program. Read the tutorial and start searching. It's mind-bogglingly tedious, but, if there's significant cross-ownership, it will show up there.

Cheers.

2. Also check the Secretary of State research site for CA

http://www.ss.ca.gov/business/business.htm

Looks like GOE Corporation in Whittier CA
http://kepler.ss.ca.gov/corpdata/ShowAllList?QueryCorpNumber=C2314976

now, alls you gotta do is start looking at the other corps with CA registrations and then go to the IL Secy of State and do same,

for example
Election Data Corp
http://kepler.ss.ca.gov/corpdata/ShowList

and so on for the CA corps. This will allow you to send away for corporate records, see 'corporate records' and 'corporate records order form'

IL Secy of State corporate info for the Election Works of St. Charles IL is at
http://cdsprod.ilsos.net/CorpSearchWeb/CorporationSearchServlet?fileNumber=57173521&sysId=CD&nameType=MST

This corporate info will allow you to get the names of corporate officers etc. that may prove helpful.

It's all 'public record' stuff and you have a right to access it if anyone asks.

6. PP your R right--Edgars is a great tool--
EDGAR is the SEC's on-line search program. Read the tutorial and start searching. It's mind-bogglingly tedious, but, if there's significant cross-ownership, it will show up there.

4. I Can Only Find ITLS
The others may be small and information may be difficult to find.

Normally, if you want to find out if someone is a major stockholder, you can simply go to a Financial Site like Yahoo and bring up the stock:

http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=ITSI.OB&d=t

One of the links on the left margin will be to Major Holders.

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=ITSI.OB

That's all you can do through Yahoo. However, the Edgar and Hoovers are better sources, I believe.
