Lady from South Carolina
Edited on Tue Apr-26-05 07:31 AM by impeachthescoundrel
just called in to Washington Journal and accused the republicans of stealing 2000 and 2004. It was a truly heartwarming moment.

1. I sure hope she says that a lot.
My people are from SC. I cannot imagine the good folks down there buying into this crap forever. They have a long history of figuring things out for themselves. All this lotus eating by them is really out of character.

It would make me feel a lot better to know that they are waking up.

2. It made my day
I am from North Carolina myself. WJ has been quite a hoot this morning. One guy called in and called the republicans fascists. Two out of three callers want to keep the filibuster.

3. Yes, South Carolinians are not a lost cause.
I have family there as well. Conservative family. I pulled a hypothetical, what if the situation were reversed on one of my aunts and have convinced her of election fraud. Basically, I said...

Imagine that the owners of Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia were all major contributors to the Democratic party and the Kerry campaign.

Imagine that the machines and software used to record and tabulate votes were proprietary and could not be inspected by the general public or their representatives. (Oh wait, you don't have to imagine that.)

Imagine that Bush's approval ratings going into the election were over 52% (that requires a stretch of the imagination and causes a few stomach pangs, but it can be done.)

Imagine that the exit polls indicate that Bush won by more than 52%

Imagine that when the votes were counted Kerry was elected by just over 50%.

Would you believe that Kerry had really won?
