Did M/E provide detailed exit poll data to ESI?
From an article just posted by MelissaB in another thread (thanks Melissa!):

The research team, led by Dr. Fritz Scheuren, used more detailed
information from the exit polls than previous studies. The team was able to
use this precinct-level information while preserving ballot secrecy at a local
level.

"The more detailed information allowed us to see that voting patterns were
consistent with past results and consistent with exit poll results across
precincts. It looks more like Bush voters were refusing to participate and
less like systematic fraud," Dr. Scheuren said.

I'm trying to figure out what this could mean other than that Scheuren/ESI received the detailed exit poll data from M/E.

If that's what this means then I guess you can only get the exit poll data if you are going to agree with Mitofsky.

1. Good Question Eomer! Did they pay for this data? If not ,why not?
Is the data released in their study so others can replicate their work and test their results?

2. Secret knowlege used to justify unsubstaniable results
They can always rejoinder, "We know stuff you don't but its secret so we can't tell you what the secret knowledge is."

Irrefutable refutation is a common ploy not necessarily fact-based that typically invalidates any academic inquiry, making this report an exercise in speculation.

4. Steven Hertzberg says he is going to post his data
In the comment section for the 2004 Ohio Exit Polls and Election Results paper, Hertzberg says he is going to post his data along with details on the analysis.

What about Pennsylvania?

It's great to see more of the exit poll data and more analysis. I'd like to see (or do) a similar analysis for my home state, Pennsylvania. How does one get access to the more detailed data?

Pennsylvania

Dear SFSinger,

This week we'll post the data that we used for Ohio and also a brief that explains how we conducted the analysis. We hope that this will provide you and others with enough information so that you can replicate our analysis in the state of your choosing.

Thank you for your comment,

Steven Hertzberg
