OH CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS about ready for signatures!
HOT OFF THE PRESS...
We have heard today from our colleagues at Reform Ohio Now, who report:

"It appears that our ballot language will be certified later today and we will be printing petitions early next week."

This means, our first major project is at our doorstep! Please prepare your clubs to hit the ground running with our massive statewide petition drive!

To refresh your memory Reform Ohio Now is a non partisan group that includes the like as Commoncause, unions etc who will attempt to correct some of the election issues in Ohio. We need 322,000 signatures (really ~ 500,000 by mid August.
amendments include...

CAMPAIGN FINANCE-currently contribution "limit" is raised to $ 80,000 per year for a family of four (assuming children over age 7) I KID YOU NOT!

AMENDMENT WOULD RESTORE AND TIGHTEN COPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS AND REDUCE INDIVIDUAL LIMITS TO $1,000 FOR LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES AND $2,000 FOR STATEWIDE CANDIDATE.

REDISTRICTING-currently one party controls 2/3 of the seats in both houses despite an almost even distribution between parties.

AMENDMENT STRIVES FOR COMPETITVE DISTRICTS

ELECTION ADMINISTRATION REFORM + EARLY VOTING-currently our SOS has actively campaigned for his party and has disenfranchised voters .

AMENDMENT WOULD CREATE A SUPERVISORY BOARD WHO WOULD SUPERVISE THE CONDUCT OF ELECTION AND ACTIVITIES OF COUNTY BOES. ALSO IT WOULD ALLOW ALL REGISTERED VOTERS TO REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT AND CAST VOTE ANY TIME DURING THE 35 DAYS PRECEDING THE ELECTION.

Ohio groups ...this is a call to action. Please pm me and I will hook you up with RON officials!

1. First, I think the $80,000 is a typo. Isn't it $8,000? Then, CONGRATS!
I don't live in Ohio, but I do have a few relatives there. Keep us informed, and I'll send the info to them! At least one is very politically active and I'm sure would canvass for signatures.

is a mere $120,000 for the family! Really! That's how audacious the Ohio repugs are!

By the way, these have been polled and the campaign finance amendment showed 71% approval rating.

65% approved of Election AAdministration Reform and Early Voting

and...

62% approved of redistricting amendment.

WE CAN WIN THESE !
