How about a public plea by Dems for some GOP Senators to switch sides |
|
in the name of checks and balances. They just need to point to the past five years- and what a disaster they have been-and the need to keep Smirk in check.

2. I've dreamed for weeks about.. |
|
Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine becoming Democrats. Also, Lindsay Graham of S.C. has been shunned by the fundies since his "judges betrayal," so he as well make history and come aboard.

4. I think some blue state GOP Senators could be put under a lot of pressure |
|
if the dems did this. Sure, the pukes would retaliate in the Red states-but these are DINO seats anyway.

3. I don't know about that... |

Personally, I think I would rather be in the minority, than in the majority and beholden to a bunch of DINOs.

if they can't see the objective truth for themselves and haven't the courage to make the move, then Dems don't need them.

7. I can see them becoming Independents like Jeffords did. |
|
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 10:08 PM by Bill Bored
That would make a lot more sense than switching to Dem and would be more of a protest in a way. If the Repukes stop being so Puky, they can always go back. Meanwhile the Dems could get the Committee Chairs back and perhaps even let the Independents have a few, if the rules will allow it. Remember, you have to make deals in Congress!
Now, are there any moderate Repukes who could use a Committee Chair or two who don't already have them???? That could be a way to get this done.

8. Because it would look desperate... |

We want to be the majority, but we don't want to win elections to do it!
How bout we focus on winning back both houses of Congress in 2006, without caucusing with Republicans.
