Whatever happened to that Ohio paper?
I posted about this in GD but don't know if anybody replied, but there was a while back a paper in Ohio who was wanting to report something about 2004 but their editor wasn't letting them because they were scared of security or something like that. I wrote an Email but never heard back and never heard anything else about it. Does anybody here know? Thanks.

1. I think they are grandstanding, personally

I haven't seen anything about it. But it might be good to organize a letter campaign to them pointing out that one of the judges in Fitz's case were about to let Miller/Cooper walk until they read those 8 pages of classified material that convinced them that the case was a matter of national security. I doubt something happenning in Ohio would fall into the same category -- though if left up to a lying cheat of a Repug judge there might be trouble. Anyway, their excuse that the Fitz case is the reason doesn't hold water -- it does not set precedent in cases not involving national security.

I agree. If they have some info dealing with state or national security they should release it. The reason why Miller was placed in jail is because she is protecting someone who committed treason and the judge wants to get that name. I wish they would release whatever they have because it has been bugging at me since I first found out. Could they not release it independently?

5. Was it about election fraud? No. Coingate? No. Rove? No. Naturally for
the P.D. it's about them trying to trash a Democrat,ex-mayor Mike White:

Cleveland Weekly, then 'Plain Dealer,' Run FBI Probe Stories

By E&P Staff

Published: July 21, 2005 3:25 PM ET

NEW YORK On Wednesday, the alt-weekly Cleveland Scene printed a version of what it claimed was one of the two stories the Plain Dealer had famously held off printing to avoid putting itself and reporters in legal peril, as editor Doug Clifton explained recently. On Thursday, the Plain Dealer published on its front page its own version of the story, written by reporter Mike Tobin.

Reached by E&P, Clifton and Tobin said they would not comment.

The Associated Press picked up the Plain Dealer's report.

The story concerns former Cleveland Mayor Michael R. White being a target of a wide-ranging federal investigation that began in 2002 and led to the indictment of consultant Nate Gray, one of his best friends. Both the Scene and Plain Dealer stories revolve around a 115-page FBI affidavit, but the PD report draws on more reporting...
