We need election reform and we'd better keep pushing. They are praying the story dies quickly and quietly. Bastards.

Send it everywhere! The more noise we make, the less they can ignore it.

A poster in another forum mentioned this and said the same thing happened at the beginning of the Watergate scandal. The bigger papers ignored it, the RW media called it laughable, unbelievable, and many other things. More importantly, VP Spiro Agnew coined the term "liberal media" in response to the story.
The point is that Woodward and Bernstein didn't back down. They pursued the story as far as they could take it, and eventually they won the Pulitzer Prize. In other words, they were real journalists.
Let Ann "the Man" and Hannutty call us names; let the whore media pundits call us loony. If we're all wrong, it won't be the first time. I really don't give a good rat's ass. I just want my vote counted.

I think one of the issues all Americans should be pushing for is a vote that can be audited, wether you are a Democrat Rep or other. You will never have fair elections if this is not done I thought it would be a constitutional right.

8. We'll have to rely on the foreign press to eventually break this. |
|
No member of the media here (Keith Olbermann excepted) is willing to have their career destroyed by their Bush loving bosses for delving into this story. It's much easier just to go along.

13. Yeah, we could blitz the Guardian with thousands of letters |
|
to their political editor, each uniquely expressing the realities of disenfranchizement and electronic fraud that lead to the stealing of an election.

I'm glad we're talking about the foreign press. I've been emailing everybody like crazy, but I didn't think about the foreign press. I'll add that to my to do list.

90% of the media is just corporate fascist BS, even if it pretends to be "liberal". The supposedly "liberal" New York Times pushed lies about Iraq, lies about 9/11 (the worst disaster in the history of their town, which they COMPLETELY FAILED TO DO ANY REAL INDEPENDENT LOCAL INVESTIGATION OF!), and now lies about the stolen election. F*k those presstitutes and corporate propagandists!
The future of progressive politics will be thoroughly informed and co-ordinated through the internet, with movies, CDs and books still having some role. At least as far as local and state politics are concerned, there are a few honest papers left here and there worth talking to. But the web is by far the best way to figure out what is really going on in the world.

14. don't think of them as "media"; |
|
think of them as corporate public relations agents.
once upon a time the media used to be independent, but that time is long gone.

It seems pretty clear that everyone now agrees that the 200 election was stolen.
Every journalist says that 2004 is not like 2000 where there were serious problems. So it seem like the conventional wisdom that Gore actually won 2000. Even though that is not much help now !
