PA Governor on paperless machines: "Trust me.. trust me... It will be OK."
Reported to me by some eastern PA Election Reform Activists (I was NOT there) who met PA Governor Ed Rendell over the weekend at a Grange Fair. Apparently Ed doesn't "get it".

To Activist, when asked about his stand on Voter Verified Paper Ballots: "It's done with! Get over it! Do something else!"

On "the buttons" (as he calls DREs -- don't forget he votes in Philly on Danaher 1242 "button" machines): "Philadelphia is a perfect example that these buttons will be OK."

And the best quote reported to me of all... the Gov takes one lady by the arm, looks directly into her eyes and says, "Trust me... trust me... It will be OK."

Heaven help us! :eyes:

3. This is sad
Rendell has been a Good Guy, and has been quite good for Pennsylvania. He also pulled Philly's fat out of the fire in the 1990s. He was quite "Clintonesque" in the positive sense of the term. He would be Philadelphia's Mayor For Life if not for the city charter's two-term limit (waived only for psycho racist Frank Rizzo).

But Ed has been drinking the kool-aid lately. And it's a god-damned shame.

10. Add to that "and Lynn Swann (ugh!) beats Ed for Governor."

I have repeatedly said to PA Dems "you'll know it was stolen in 2006 when Ricky gets re-elected and Lynn Swann beats Rendell for Governor."

But by then it will be too late and we'll really be playing, um... catch-up football in the Keystone State. And trailing by about six touchdowns.

WAKE UP DEMOCRATS!

11. 6 Touchdowns? You mean 6 TouchScreens, don't you?

That's all it would take to swing a close election!

Well, given the fact that Murphy, or whatever his name is, was personally selected by Rendell to run against Ricky boy, Rendell will certainly have egg on his face if Ricky wins. Watch for them to come up with a major wedge issue, even though Murphy is pro-Life, as a cover story for stealing it. That's their MO.

6. Trust me
I don't think they will go for the paper ballot until they have figured out a way to rig that also. Trust me!

8. Remember ED from FL2000, he gave up as quick as LIEberman
There is something really rotten about all this. Rendel is very smart, he knows they can be fixed, he's lying through his teeth. Shame on him.

And :hi: to you!
