Indictments in Cuyahoga County! (RE: Recount)

Two Cuyahoga County election workers indicted in presidential recount
POSTED: Tuesday, August 30, 2005 4:16:29 PM
UPDATED: Tuesday, August 30, 2005 5:33:07 PM

CLEVELAND -- Two workers at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections have been charged with taking illegal short cuts in our local recount of last year’s presidential election.

A libertarian candidate and one from the Green party made the original accusations, and today a grand jury agreed.

Ballot supervisors Rosey Greer and Kathleen Dreamer each face six felonies.

The shortcuts wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the election, but were not the way the recount should have been handled.

For tip of the iceberg, see http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_fullstory.asp?id=40043.

We need lots of people to show up at the next Board meetings, especially the regular meeting on Mon, Sept 12th at 5pm.  There will definitely be press at this meeting!

Other special meetings are Thurs, Sept 1st at 5:30pm and Tues, Sept 6th at 9am.  It is ALWAYS good to have as many people as possible.

4. Six felonies?
They each face six felonies, but nothing they did would have changed the outcome?

Can someone post more background on this? I know that elections are a big deal, but what did they do that is worth a combined total of twelve felony charges?

18. Isn't it obvious probably......
They ignored Ohio law at the boards discretion, Blackwell's discretion.....

And they played with the numbers using Triad, doing this COULD change the outcome of the whole election if it was shown to have happened in every board of elections!

And if they did SAVE all of the data it is claimed proprietary by ES&S and Triad.....They have to release that code, it is LEGALLY mandated to release that code.

26. What happened in just this one county
would not have changed the outcome for Ohio as a whole. It doesn't mean it would not change the totals in that county though.

If you look through the archives in this forum or google on irregularities in recounts in this county you will get a better idea.

They likely are facing the same 6 charges, two people committing the same crimes.

37. It opens the dorr for other counties to get their cases in court. We have
a mountain of evidence that will one day be the historical groundwork to prove the election in Ohio was stolen. No one hears implies it was only Cuyahoga County.

I encourage you to read John Conyers and the House Judiciary Committee Staff's "Preserving Democracy: What went Wrong in Ohio?" It is an excellent synopsis of the '04 theft in Ohio.

38. I was replying to the poster
who asked how there could be 12 felonies if it wouldn't change the outcome, not commenting that it was minor.
Just noting that a single county would not.

I've read Conyers report and do know how bad it was, at least as well as we can know.

35. RE: Michael Vu. I heard him speak twice, one at an EAC hearing in
Cokumbus on provisional ballots and he really laid into Blackwell and once at a House Administration Hearing chaired by Bob Ney and he spoke about the threat of being fired if you did not go along w the SOS-blackwell ( he did bucked horns w blackwell regarding the pre-election directives). He appeared highly competent at both hearings. Vu came across as someone who feared for his job and that is the reason I hope he spills the beans on Blackwell, who he reports to, when the time comes.

Vu discusses how he received a letter from Blackwell indicating that those who did not follow Blackwell's orders could be terminated. Vu locked horns w Blackwell over some of the pre elections directives ordered by Blackwell. He came across as competent and challenging to Blackwell.

I did just put out a request for comments from Ohio Vigilance, a group based in Cuyahoga who is doing an EXCELLENT job in their attempt to keep Diebold out of the county.

27. I mean you-know-who
Yes, I'm still bitter about it. I put my heart and soul into working for the Kerry campaign, and quite a lot of cash into the fund that was supposed to put lawyers on the ground to fight for every vote to be counted. And then in the face of massive election "irregularities", he caved the very next morning. I felt totally betrayed. Now he's got that count-the-votes fund burning a hole in his pocket for his next campaign, and still sends me fundraising solicitations. Ack-phhhttt!

So I'm still a Democrat, and a liberal one too. But I put a lot less faith in the leadership now - until we can take back the party from the "insiders".

So yeah everyone including Maxine Waters knows it was stolen.....I guess the rest of them though don't care.

Wednesday, August 31, 2005

...Kerger charged that elections officials failed to randomly select precincts that were supposed to be counted by hand and compared against ballots tabulated by a machine; conduct test-runs before witnesses; and investigate discrepancies between vote totals.

Baxter would not offer details of his investigation but said he examined allegations that officials took "measures in order to all but assure that there would not be a countywide hand count."

"Calling into question the integrity of a national election requires that a thorough investigation be completed by the federal authorities," Synenberg said in a letter to Baxter...

Gregory White is a friend of Thomas Noe, that would be the worst conflict of interest!!!

It's just like Berger, conflict of interest. What we want no longer is a conflict of interest, make sure that evidence and testimonies are turned over to an IMPARTIAL prosecutor

Or if possible save and record it all, get someone from the Greens to appoint a counsel.
