100,000,000 or 1 -- It's Too Many
I've been thinking about this since yesterday.

There are a lot of allegations flying around. Voter intimidation, disenfranchisement, mistakes, glitches, and fraud.

Is it one county or thousands? Is it isolated to small areas or much larger spread?

This is the United States of America. We tote ourselves as a free society, ruled by democracy. This democracy is something we seem to want to spread around the world, export to other countries so they can have the life of liberty we enjoy.

But what happens to democracy if even one vote doesn't count? Whether it's 100 million or 1 that wasn't counted, whether by glitch, goof or guile, it's too many.

This is the foundation on which we must take a stand. As democrats, we believe America is about freedom for all, equal rights for everyone, the amazing opportunities that lay before us, and the choices we have.

But what happens when those choices are taken away, when someone wants to decide for us, or when the system is so faulty, people feel they really have no choice?

Democracy is founded on the rule of the people, and the choices they make. When choice is gone, well what happens to democracy then?

1. Many Famous Counries don't count votes
Many great countries don't count votes for real...

the USSR didn't.

China is questionable.

North Korea..

WW2 Germany

Look at all this amazing company... wait... maybe not such cgreat company...but they're stabl... no, tha'ts not right.

We're screwed when our vote doesn't count because we aren't a democracy anymore, we're in a dictatorship regime which lies to the people, isn't that what we revolted over in 1776?

2. Bush Quotes and Dictatorship
"You don't get everything you want. A dictatorship would be a lot easier." Describing what it's like to be governor of Texas.
(Governing Magazine 7/98)

"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," Bush joked. (CNN.com, December 18, 2000)

"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it, " said. (Business Week, July 30, 2001)
