Should Election Reform Farm Team some posts for GD? |
|
Maybe some thought should go into something that is more fit for general consumption, and then move discussions over to GD. (things sometimes get esoteric here)
I saw 125 *nominations* on the GAO report thread kster linked to and was amazed (I hadn't seen that thread myself, before)

1. Often, election stuff posted on GD gets seen by lots more people than here |
|
Generally gets seen by a lot more or a lot less. If it doesn't get responded to pretty quick it can sink out of site.

2. Is it "legal" to take a post from ER and cross post (later on) to GD? |
|
anyone can start a thread. But one that was "farmed" up and improved by the group might start an even better discussion over on GD.

5. I sometimes have done it the other way around |
|
I post on GD or GD-P, and then I put a cross-post on ERD.
I think I've done it maybe 4 times. Nobody has ever told me not to do it, and in fact once when I posted on GD-P, Fly by Night suggested that I cross post on ERD.
However, the last two times that I posted on GD-P, the mods moved my post to ERD -- no explanation. But they've never done that when I post on GD.

4. Just keep kicking it. Ask the team to kick the thread. |
|
It's true that posts do sink fast otherwise in GD. There's nothing wrong with asking folks to keep your thread kicked, it's done on posts in this forum, why not GD? It will get a wider view. (um, probably.)
We know getting it recommended for greatest helps, a good snappy title seems to draw a crowd too. Although I'm never quite sure what that would look like until I actually see one.
Marketing and politics. Eh, wha'cha gonna do?
It is true that the election fraud threads seem to be selling like hot cakes these days, as noted by Land Shark. The GAO report was very big news. There is a second thread on the GAO in greatest now with 33 votes. so you might want to strike to see if that iron is still hot.
I say yes, team up and make a presentation for GD. In fact it might not be a bad idea to come up with a thread every couple of weeks or so that include some of the best info and discussions y'all have here. Help each other out by voting and kicking. I'm always happy to help out if I'm around.
Make them quick to digest in GD, and maybe link to longer posts on the same matter here in this forum.
I'm mostly just encouraging you folks to move into GD and see how it goes. I really have nothing to say here that you as a group haven't already thought of. It's worth a try.

7. Here's one I just posted about an hour ago |
|
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2196589On GD they can be seen very quickly by a large number of people. And now that GD has been divided into two parts, they don't sink so fast either.
