Okay, I'm ready to be thoroughly educated. |
|
There have been far too many coincidences in past elections. At this point, it's not so much whether or not I believe elections were compromised, it's whether or not I can trust the system. If I can't trust the system, then the elections are already compromised.
Recommend some books, please, and some web sites. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm getting it today--seems like it'll give a great overview.

Go to www.votersunite.org and spend hours reviewing what's there, particularly the problems reported n voting machines by vendor. But again, there's much to see on that web-site.
Visit www.freepress.org and order the two Fitrakis and Wasserman books there, including "Did George W. Bush Steal the 2004 Election? Esstential Documents." (They also have a newer one, but I can't remember the title.)
Obtain the Conyers report on the stolen Ohio election (published in early January) and the GAO report (published two weeks ago) on the insecurity of paperless electronic voting.
Go to www.commonwonders.com and read Bob Koehler's three columns published in late April (after the National Election Reform Conference in Nashville). They are:
The silent scream of numbers — The 2004 election was stolen — will someone please tell the media?
Democracy's Abu Ghraib — If they can disable an election, what's coming next?
Moonbat lefty for fair elections — Readers respond to recent columns
Read Christopher Hitchen's Vanity Fair piece, "What Went Wrong in Ohio?" and Mark Crispin Miller's recent Harper's piece, "None Dare Call It Stolen."
And then spend days (weeks/months) reviewing the threads on this forum. You will learn a great deal and be taken places you may not want to go.
But if you join with us here, you can help us take our country back. Peace out.

5. Greg Palast's "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" |
|
It's mostly about the 2000 debacle, and predicting how 2004 would be as bad or worse. It's good background to what happened last year.
Fascinating read.

http://www.democrats.org/a/2005/06/democracy_at_ri.phpNote that this report did NOT find evidence of widespread systematic fraud in Ohio, but they didn't look that hard and such massive fraud was not required to swing such a close election anyway. The above chapters are quite good though.
