Silence of the Dems
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 01:27 PM by Atman
I'm not buying the "the numbers DO add up, and we just lost" line. Lots of us here, obviously, are not. However, the democratic party leaders and even the candidate we say won don't seem to want to get on board. Certainly, maybe they just don't want to look like spoil-sports, and are allowing the American people --> fife and drum music starts <-- to champion this cause, which if successful would truly represent the ultimate triumph of democracy. Maybe.

But equally plausible is that the no sane democrat wants to be charged with piloting the Titanic as it speeds towards one mother effer of an iceberg.

It's cold comfort to me to think my kids may get drafted, my water will become polluted, my air smoggified, all of what is about to come our way, simply to put the democratic party in a better winning position in 2008. But honestly...I think that is the likeliest scenerio of why no one in the dem party leadership appears the slightest bit concerned about what seems to obvious to the people who voted for them.

4. No one is going to be in a better position to win the '08 election than
those who stole it in '00 and probably '04.

Any Dem who thinks we're going to get a fair election anytime in the near future, is stupid enough to qualify for Freepers Inc.

5. 100% Agreement
"Any Dem who thinks we're going to get a fair election anytime in the near future, is stupid enough to qualify for Freepers Inc."

I was not clear on that point. Kinda like discovering the framing of your house completely eaten by termites and saying "I'm going to give those termites four more years to eat my house, because I'll be in a better position to eradicate them later." More likely, it's all gonna come falling down before you get the chance.

8. Agree, but you forgot 2002.
They stole that one too - at least in GA.

Some believe that Ahnold was foisted upon CA using similar methods. (I'm not saying I do or don't believe this - I just wasn't paying attention to recall irregularities.)

7. THIS CAN'T BE STOPPED!!
If we let them DEFINE US AGAIN... then we're sunk!!! ONWARD, the people have the right to speak and I'm not stopping!!

This could have been a National thing and that would account for the large National vote for Bush! I don't think any of us is going to just lay down and roll over. I'm SICK AND TIRED of these REPUKES! Out, Out... Damn SPOT!!!

I've been involved in politics for a VERY long time, I'm a Boomer, and have NEVER seen the likes of what this SO-CALLED Administration has done to America. We are now DSA... Divided States of America!!! That's waht El-Smirkle-Roy did! He and his HENCHMEN!!

ONWARD, ONWARD.... dare I say Christian Soldiers???? Personally, I'm more into the Spiritual way of thinking, but still have FAMILY VALUES!!!!

21. I agree with you on many points. We have to be proud to be
liberal and obstruct the pugs in Congress at every point and not play along with them, like was done the last 4 years. The dems have to stand for equality, the average American, justice, etc. The dems have to be proud to obstruct and speak loudly against what the pugs will be doing.

One of the problems I saw with the swifties and a whole bunch of other things, was that Kerry etal was responding to the charges and having Cleland go to Crawford and "ask" Bush to stop the swifties. Whaddaya mean ASK??? How about "Demand" for starters and not answer on one TV show after another each swiftie charge. Kerry also should have not answered anything but just charged in on Bush's nonexistent Vietnam service and chickenhawk presidency. In this campaign the DNC played right into the pug hands. It was amazing. Some Dems understand they are dealing with assasins and others still just don't get it.

Right now as Bush talks about "mandate" how many dems in power are saying there is no mandate and that he has no political capital. 51% is a mandate? Who in dem power is saying shrub is full of it. When are the dems going to get it already that the pugs are playing a different game than they were 20 years ago when politics was true give and take and compromise?

10. Not looking too good.............
At this point the number of irregularities brought to our attention is not going to change the outcome of the election," said DNC spokesman Jano Cabrera. "The simple fact of the matter is that Republicans received more votes than Democrats, and we're not contesting this election."

The DNC has left us behind, a$$holes........Its
all about 2008, its like they forgot that we are
still in 2004.

The DNC and Jano Cabrera...? Who's that guy anyways?

Really?

They are not the ones in charge here. I hope they understand that their position is very weak with the Democratic Part base right now. This is growing popular movement looking to have a honest outcome for the American elections.

Don't pay atention to the DNC bureaucrats. They don't get it!

12. Defeatist democrats is what I call them,
After listening to AAR all last weekend, I though Monday would bring another day of fighting and liberal rhetoric that KERRY won the election.. But much to my surprise, all I heard was capitulation from what I refer to as "defeatist democrat's"..

then I heard Randi Rhodes come out fighting and knew that was the person to listen too.. The fight is not over yet folks, if you believe..

Turn off the corporate NEWS media and listen to those that want the truth to come out!!

Fraud is not an alternative!!

KERRY WON!!

Mostly nobody in America knows who the $%^& she is. Its
not like Limbaugh or Franken. Nobody really knows this
chick and it scares me to think that she and bonehead
Olbermann are the only friendly support we got in the media.
Even Dan $%&&&&ing Rather won't touch this with a 10

17. In 2000, Randi was shrieking about the Florida election. I live here and
I heard her. She got Joe Lieberman on the phone, told him what was going on, and his answer was, in effect, "Yeah, whatever."

Greg Palast (and many others) proved it was stolen in 2000.

Randi (and Greg Palast) are again screaming that it was stolen this year, but there is virtually no coverage in the "liberal media" -- print or TV.

The problem is we can't prove it this time. Do you really think we're going to get our hands on the black box software?

Randi's right again. And we are fucked again. And if we let these black box machines continue counting our votes without paper trails, we're going to get fucked again, and again, and ...

So what the hell do we do now?

15. There IS some momentum in this
recount scenario. At 10:30, AP had a headline about Nader calling for recounts in Ohio, FL, and NH. Ohio org.s are involved in their own investigations, too. I think it is better handled this way. Someone mentioned Kerry didn't want to look like the captain of the Titanic. Good analogy. If the election results aren't overturned, we could all look like idiots. However, to look into it in a way that desires "fairness" and "correct outcomes" doesn't set us up to look like bitter losers.

18. My letter to the DNC
DNC Staff:

Despite the growing outcry against what appears to be fraud in this past election, it seems that the DNC has decided to honor the results of the election. I have heard that the DNC does not want to contribute to the current partisan division in the US because this could affect the 2008, and possibly, the 2012 elections, and there is fear that challenging the elections could further polarize the US.

While I can understand and appreciate this thinking, I cannot agree with it.

Many of us feel that our votes were disenfranchised in 2000 because the Supreme Court handed bush the election. I personally believed that there needed to be a revote in Florida. But, we were willing to put this behind us and look to the future and 2004.

This time, while it appears that bush won the popular vote, there are just too many instances of irregularities (particularly in counties where electronic voting machines were used) in many states to substantiate this. This leaves many of us feeling again disenfranchised. And, since neither the DNC nor the Kerry camp appear willing to challenge the results, it also leaves us with a sense that our votes really don't matter, and that the political futures of Senator Kerry and the Democratic party are more important than the accuracy of this past election. Or, perhaps the manufacturers of the electronic voting machines have louder voices than we have.

As I see it, your resistance to challenge will not contribute to unity. Far from it. What I am now seeing is that some democrats are thinking about leaving the US, some are fighting for an investigation into voting irregularities, and some have become apathetic as a result of feeling disenfranchised. I am afraid that, if you continue to refuse to challenge the election results, the majority of the democrats who remain in the US will become apathetic, and many will refuse to vote in the next election. After all, if our votes didn't count in 2000 and 2004, what would make us think they would count in 2008?

I urge you to consider my viewpoint, and I thank you for taking the time to read this.

19. Feel 100% same as you Atman
This kind of silence is rare, I do feel this story is not over. I have the same fears you do, my kids going off to war because of a draft is the biggest, then there's the matter of everything else going down the tubes in a big way. Do think their approach is the best way it can be handled. The people on this board should all be proud, we are a small but growing segment, this is not going away. If nothing more is accomplished than guaranteeing our vote will not be messed with in the next election, than that alone will be great and is probably the least of what will happen. My prayers and heart are holding out for the bigger prize, time will tell where it all leads.

22. you know what? Bush probably won because he was in the minds
of many Americans the "war leader." You know how we never get rid of a prez during war? He has no politial capital, no mandate, he was just the war leader. And he barely squeaked in for a second term. Why aren't the dem leaders saying this.
