Elections forum--- Hackett -- Old time 2004 ERD Stuff;)
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 12:09 AM by autorank

Hackett was betrayed in his first entry in to politics: TrutiIsAll, Rosebud57, etc.

Shortly after Paul Hackett lost a very close special election race on Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District, The Elections Forum (2004: Elections Research & Discussion) went to work. TruthIsAll, Rosebud57, freedomfries, Fly by night, Organic, Carolab, Land Shark, adolfo, and other regulars went to work on the data available from Cleremont County. The results are shown below in an article published by “Scoop” Independent Media (the only investigative piece we know of on this election).

1. Your link, sir:

Check out that Schmidt victory photo. Not one person in the picture looks convinced that she won.
... In fact, the guy behind Schmidt looks a bit ashamed.

2. Sir: I've got pretty good taste in pictures, no;)
You can just see her headed for her 15 minutes of fame by attacking a war hero, friend of the common man, and revered figure. Geez.....I have nightmares about that picture.

3. well, it is time for someone to do more analytical work
The problem with the precinct-level analysis here is that the larger precincts in Clermont County had the same propensity to vote more Republican in both the 2000 and 2004 presidential races. That might mean that the Clermont results were hacked in all three elections, but someone would actually have to develop that argument.

Similarly, the article expresses surprise that Clermont voted more Republican than the more rural and sparsely populated counties Adams, Pike, Brown and Scioto. More or less at random I went back to 1980, and the same thing was true then. (It was also true in 2004 and 2000.)

So if someone wants to make the case that Clermont and/or other counties were hacked in 2005, he or she will have to find anomalies that are more anomalous.
