Has Anyone Touted JOHN EDWARDS for DNC Chairman?
I wouldn't mind him crossing swords on the Sunday Talk shows for the next 4 years:kick:

1. Yes, but he seems more focused on 2008
And the way it is looking, whom ever becomes DNC chair will be there through out the '08 election.

William Saletan
with Slate is pushing for Edwards 2008 because he has that sumptious ability to express things in a simple and straight-forward way. He has the "gift of gab" and also is able to frame things in terms of American moral values. i.e., hard work, no free lunch, value of the family...blah, blah, blah.

2. I like it
He's charming, smooth, something of an insider, and he's not afraid to hammer on a populist message that is truly our strongest selling point.

3. I heard he doesn't want the job and they thought the Clinton (Hilary)
people leaked his name for this position. He doesn't want it (I didn't really get how the leaking his name for it hurt him somehow).

8. I've heard that the Clintons like him.
Maybe they were leaking it to help him?

6. NO.
Dean is the one we can trust. He's the only one who isn't an insider.

I want him as president. If that's not possible, then DNC chair.

7. Pretty face but....
... exactly what did he do for Kerry? Maybe he helped raise some money via the plaintiff's bar, but I still think a Bayh, Graham, or Richardson would have in the least delivered a state.

9. It was interesting how Edwards
ended up in rural barnyards and far away from the camera lens. Our so-called Golden Boy with the Midas tongue was rarely heard from. Hmmmm....

Anyway, yes, I would like to see Dean as DNC chair. I was behind him for Prez. way back in the first couple of primaries---bought buttons and the whole sha-bang--but you know the story: by the time the primaries rolled over to the west coast, the east coast had already chosen Kerry.

Even though many still think Edwards doesn't have enough experience, I agree with Will Saletan in Slate that he would be a fabulous choice for Prez in 2008 (perhaps with Obama?). Afterall, look how stupid and moronic Shrub is? He had about as much experience as Edwards (6 years in politics). The "gift" would be Edwards ability to keep things simple for the sound-bites, kinda like Dumb-Dumb did.
