Common Cause is lobbying for improved election integrity federally and in the states, and they're asking for money.

Yes, I believe part of what they're working on is to try to pass H.R.550. But, despite the fears of some H.R.550 opponents here that election reformers will think their job is done if this passes, that's definitely not Common Cause's plan. They're working in the states and federally to try to do much more than just pass H.R.550.

The ER is strictly for undermining progress, usually by hand-wringing the incremental nature of change. The good is the enemy of the perfect, things have to get worse to get better (publicity), and we're all doomed.

But Voltaire's dictum was the opposite: "the best is the enemy of the good" 1, perfection is a recipe for stasis. In that vein, the best thing for reform is electing DINOs, not creating an infinite number of splinter movements over mild doctrinal differences.
