What really needs to happen on election day
Think about what happened in 04, and what allowed all the clear evidence of fraud to be ignored - it's the mainstream media.

We were screaming about it on our websites. Even the alternative press was talking about it to some extent. But the mainstream media was completely ignoring it.

This is the missing link once again. If there is evidence of fraud, the American people need to be informed about it if we expect them to do anything about it.

People already are poised. Polls show they don't trust the electronic voting machines and they suspect funny business. But they still need someone on TV to confirm something went wrong. If that happens, I am convinced, we will see another Ukraine/Mexico, here in the good old USA.

We've come a long way since 04. Some in the mainstream press are talking about the machines. Others are openly critical of the administration.

We need to make sure that on election night, these folks - Olbermann, Dobbs,.... (who else?) are getting HIT HARD with lots of emails about the problems. We need to be prepared and we need to act quickly.

The formula goes like this:

1. Prep work: Folks are all signed up for alternative news services ahead of time. Make sure you are on the mailing lists for BradBlog, Mark Crispin Miller, Solar Bus, Velvet Revolution, VoteTrustUSA, Greg Palast, Voters Unite... sorry if I missed any. Please chime in with more suggestios. People also need to be prepared with contact info for mainstream media, with a particular focus on those who appear to be open to reporting on this, but also blanketing all mainstream media. This website could be helpful: http://capwiz.com/pfaw/dbq/media/ We need contact info for Dobbs, Olbermann, etc... People need to have all this info ahead of time and ready to blast the media with personal emails when it happens.

2. Election Night: Independent investigators report the information
On election night Brad and the rest of the reporters and investigators find out what's going on and hourly send information to people on the lists. Whether it's exit poll discrepancies, long lines at the polls, stickers on ballots, correlations between voting machines type and voting results, we need it all and we need it fast!

3. Every time we get info from the investigators, we blast the media. It's not enough to forward messages to your friends. It has to go to the mainstream media. Often. They need to feel both the pressure, and the support they will get from the public when the report the facts.

Once the mainstream media starts to report what's going on, we'll see what happens. But unless they do, nothing will happen.

Just remember, what's the difference between Ukraine and US in 04? Just one thing - the media reported the facts in Ukraine. Lou Dobbs may be holding our destiny in the palm of his hand.

1. People needed on the ground!

On election day, we need to have a coordinated effort. The following people need to be in place in every single precinct in all competitive districts and states. This is a formidable task, but we certainly have the forces to accomplish it.
  1. Poll workers
  2. Poll watchers
  3. Official witnesses
  4. Media coordinators
  5. Lawyers
  6. Notaries
  7. District and state coordination locations

These teams must be fast response, meaning that the time between an infraction is observed to when media is contacted, legal action is taken, etc. must be measured in seconds, not minutes. District and state offices need to be in place to coordinate efforts.

When an infraction is observed, the official witnesses report it to their district coordination team by cell phone. The seriousness of the infraction is weighed and appropriate action is taken which may include bumping the effort up to the statewide coordinating team. Media coordinators arrange for coverage. Lawyers act quickly to shut down the infractions by making appropriate emergency filings.

What's most important is that the official witnesses must get names of people affected by the infraction so that the event can be fully documented. If the infraction is serious enough, notarized accounts should be taken on the scene. We have to make sure that we thoroughly document everything.

10. excellent list
it will help a lot. One problem that may show up again ::crossing my fingers it doesn't:: is if they pull another scenario when they limit or prohibit objective observers of the process claiming security risks. In case in '04, they locked the building down directly afterwords leaving them amply privacy to do whatever they wanted with returns. They claimed the feds told them to do so, which the feds denied.

If they do try to block witnesses, is there anything that can be done about it? Do they have the authority to prevent witnesses from being there? If they do, I'm sure they'll out the same excuse of security again.

And a big thank you in advance to everyone taking part and volunteering to help in this. :D

inch yourself towards them, circle them until you can be interviewd :)

11. WEAR a 1-855-OUR VOTE Button or Sticker to the polls & pass them out to voters
available at my CafePress cost at http://www.cafepress.com/theproteststore/2000893

OR

Download a 270KB 300dpi graphic and make the buttons or stickers locally at less expense.

Be sure to stand the legal distance from the poll entrance when handing out buttons & stickers to voters.

12. question about that
hey Kip,

Is that the same organization that feeds all the compaints into the EIR system? on their website they have 866 not 855. are they both correct?

also I'm wondering if they have any plans to do anything with the data this time? It seems like last time (04) they did a great job of putting all the data there for people to see but they didn't come to any conclusions or analysis.

thanks
gary
