Machine problems in TX-22 (yes, DeLay's old district) |
|
For once, these help us (not that that excuses them)
I'm getting this from a friend in Texas:
So apparently Republicans have to write-in a candidate; it's not like Foley's seat in FL where a vote for Foley is a vote for some other guy the GOP picks. The GOP-endorsed write-in candidate is Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. Here's the problem: to write in on the voting machines, you have to use a trackball to select letters on an on-screen keyboard, and the keyboard doesn't have a hyphen.
I would want to cackle with glee about this, but it's even more important to me that people who (for whatever sick reason) want to vote for Sekula-Gibbs should frigging be able to.

spelled or thrown out. The two "e's" in Shelley have to be there or no vote. These are Rethuglican rules....

Were these machines designed by chimpanzees? Everytime you go near one, there's another problem.
