Posted the same thing in GD, just wanted people to see it here if they haven't. looks like the MSM is getting the people ready for fraud :eyes:
They are making it sound like the Republicans are ahead so that when they win (by fraud) it less unexpected :eyes: :puke:

Polls: GOP looks likely to keep Senate control
Races tighten in Montana, Missouri, Rhode Island and Virginia

NEW YORK - Just days from the midterm elections, the final round of MSNBC/McClatchy polls shows a tightening race to the finish in the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Democrats are leading in several races that could result in party pickups, but Republicans have narrowed the gap in other close races, according to Mason-Dixon polls in 12 states.

1. I was thinking the same thing
and the post-election spin is already starting - it's the Saddam verdict that tipped the balance - the republicans keep the house!! Karl Rove is a friggin GENIUS!!!!

Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 08:22 PM by Faye
that's pretty much what i figured would happen. it definately is NOT the truth, i really doubt anyone feels any different about who they planned to vote for just because of Saddam being sentenced. it's bullshit, it's a cover to make people think that's why there was a shift.

2. Been seeing these defeatist shit posts for days. Do you really
believe that you're the first to post this defeatist crap?

Like I told the last one, okay, you win. We won't vote, we don't stand a chance. Just lay down and die.

Let the election come on us and let us all have hope that this time, this time, it will be such a big turnout that they won't get a way with it. Let the election come upon us and afterwards we will deal with what we have to deal with. Right now we fight, we don't snivel, complain, cry, or whine.

We get off our damn knees, put away our crying rags, and do what we have to do. And people like you quit posting this crap.

3. excuse me?
so you are telling me not to post what's in the news? not that i believe it for a second.
i'm not staying home, i'm voting, and i expect everyone else to as well.
it's not defeatist. it's caution. i'd like to be optimistic but i'd rather feel balanced.
don't ever talk to me like that again, i am in no way a defeatist.
there is balanced optimism and blind optimism, i choose the first.

7. Anytime I see someone who's putting out crap that's purposely
intended to make anyone believe that this election is over before it's even happend is going to get told what I think of them. I will talk to you like this because it's garbage posts like this republican propaganda crap that some dems like to post that get in the way of intelligent discussion aimed at winning the election.

Do you really think that you're telling people here something they don't know? That elections can be stolen? And you double post your big breaking news no less.

Tuesday we deal with what we have to deal with. Until then, we concentrate on winning.

15. Did you study the 2004 midnight/overnight theft? IF YOU
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 08:51 PM by higher class
NARROW THE MARGIN, you don't need to steal as much. Therefore, you are at less risk of being discovered. You narrow the margin by participation of right wing networks and polling companies (and eliminating tried and true accurate exit polling which the right wing networks eliminated in 2004).

There is nothing here about not voting. You are only seeing this from one view. This is not xxxt. This is reality.

If you choose not to see how it's unraveling before it's unraveling and you condemn those of us who are observing and making notes - then you are the one who is negative.

If you choose not to warn your friend and neighbors on the way it's unraveling so that they can learn just as others have learned - so that they become more determined than ever to vote - then you are the one who is negative.

If you choose not to acknowledge that they have a tried and true strategy that has worked for them in the past and that they promised this in the last 72 hours - then you are the one who is negative.

5. Not defeatist, realist.
The OP didn't say in any way, shape or form to NOT vote. I guess you think it would be better for the OP to keep their head in the sand, and ignore the previous elections that we have "lost." When Wednesday comes, if the Dems have lost both houses, will you suddenly start spouting "voter tampering?"
I hope to God the Dems win, but if we don't, it won't surprise me. Hoping and wishing for a positive outcome, doesn't make it any more or less likely. I am going to vote, if you care.
And, last I checked, we still had freedom of speech in our country.

10. It's hardly defeatist to recognize the serious threat to our democracy
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 08:31 PM by Downtown Hound
posed by voter fraud. No one is saying don't vote, we're doubtful that our votes will be counted. But I guess we should all just shut up and trust that that good old boy George W. Bush is going to play nice this time and not try and steal it like he has 3 times before? Is that what you're saying?

13. not voter fraud
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 09:16 PM by Faye
it's election fraud.

voter fraud is what Ann Coulter does.
voter fraud is what Republicans call it to cover up the most threatening issues (voting machines, suppression, corrupt officials).

14. There isn't anyone here who doesn't realize the 'threat' to our
democracy. Do you believe that you and Fran or Faye or whoever it was are telling us something we don't know? And trust, don't be silly. But like someong else said, this is my fault for clicking on another one of these 'boy have I got got news for you and it's BAAADDD' threads.

But deal with the reality of Tuesday, then after Tuesday if there's a problem deal with that then. What are you doing to that's going to prevent it from happening by posting this crap? Do you think that the repubs will get scared and not give it the old college try because you and Fran posted some snippets from and article that skews the polls? I mean, if they're going to try it again, they're going to try it again. And if they do, then the party and the people do more this time around than fold like a cheap suit.

Go into the fight with the attitude that we will win. All these 'henny penny the sky's gonna fall, they're getting ready to steal the election and I got proof' crap from a lot of these people has gotten old. And redundant as hell.

17. If you find it redundant, how about not clicking on the thread?
I personally see no value in going into something as crucial as these elections with a blind eye and not willing to foresee all possibilities, and if you find such talk redundant, best you ignore it and not attack those that don't.

18. So first you call it...
shit, then you call it crap, then you admit it's true. We are not sniveling, crying, complaining, or whining. We are NOT on our knees. The ones who tell us to "get over it" are the ones on their knees - either to service the Rovians or to bury their heads in the sand. It doesn't matter which.

Get a clue: We're ALL gonna vote! I will vote even when I know it's going into a black hole.

Peace.

22. acmavm, it is actually YOU who is delivering the negative message.
You have taken the opportunity of Faye's post to deliver your negative message. You are not alone in this.

There are a number of folks who twist posts about fraud warning, and calls to awareness into their own personal message of defeat. Real back-door stuff.

If you had posted this without your prickly attack on Faye, you would have had your post banned. Just take a look at it, fer cry-eye: "We won't vote, we don't stand a chance. Just lay down and die."

Personally, I think all the posts like yours that deliver the "don't vote meme" via the back door should be deleted. It is YOU and your ilk who are delivering a conscious message of "Don't vote".

And you simply couldn't be more wrong. From top to bottom, your message is wrong and irresponsible.

Please reconsider when posting such things, because it is negative, AND it is beginning to look suspicious.

Get Out The Vote!!

20. I was wondering about that too.
It just sounds like the wonderful economic data, and the job data, when you have this urge to ask, What? Where? Who? When? and say "really"...
