Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 06:57 PM by rumpel
Since last 15-day Gubernatorial General Report of Registration (October 21, 2002 Report):
• The total registration in the state has increased from 15,303,469 to 15,837,108.
• The percentage number of total registered voters compared to eligible voters has declined
from 71.3% to 69.9%.
• The percentage number of voters who have “Declined to State” their political party has
increased from 15.2% to 18.7%.
• The percentage registration in the qualified political parties has declined from 84.1% to 80.7%.
• The percentage registration in the Democratic Party declined from 44.6% to 42.5%.
• The percentage registration in the Republican Party declined from 35.2% to 34.3%.
• Since June 19, 1995, (when NVRA began) through August 31, 2006, 17,545,847 people have
registered or reregistered to vote in conjunction with “Motor Voter.”

detailed data both in pdf & excel available for download.

According to this CA has no longer a Dem majority, perhaps never has..

Note of personal experience: LA County still inputting data - therefore I wonder whether the number is accurate, verified or unverified.

1. That's bullshit.

They have been PROJECTING that California is trending RED since 2000. What a crock of shit.

Take a look at the Hispanic voter registration figures...how the hell did over 30% of new registrants register as REPUBS? In 2006? After the immigration fiasco, anyone who has an ounce of common sense KNOWS that the Hispanic community HARDLY feels the "love" of the Repubs. This report is laughable. I guess we shouldn't expect much more from our APPOINTED SOS.

2. I also find it highly questionable

I am looking in my back-up external archive drive the data from 2004 or 2005.
Which are no longer available on the CA SOS site - moved to some archive place - it says. Making it more difficult to compare - hmm?

on edit: they do break it down into:

Eligible Registered Democratic Republican American Independent Green Libertarian Natural Law Peace and Freedom Miscellaneous Declined to State

so technically some may just have "declined to state"

3. and why is McPherson using 2002 as a reference point?
when we had presidential elections thereafter?

4. I think it's safe to assume that anything coming from McPherson, is a lie.

5. I have now combined 2004, 2005 and 2006 data into one excel
worksheet.

albeit, I know at least 1 dem voter (my daughter) who is probably not reflected in this count. Or is she in this one, but not at the county, since she registered at the SOS website - only to be purged by McCormack's office?

I am going to request information as to how he arrived at this data. I need an official answer.

Is my daughter's "damaged" registration in the trash next to an overworked worker?
